odd question, but could really use the advice
Comments (5)Most of the soaker hoses I've used, the higher you turn up the water, the more the water tends to shoot out in direct spray jets from the myraid slightly-larger-than-regulation holes that there tend to be. If that makes any sense at all. I've had some success in the past rectifying this by covering said holes with electrical tape, but there are usually quite a few. Hence, your 'hard rain' would be interspersed with tiny shooting jets of water in various spots. Also, in my limited experience, water coming off of a soaker hose tends more to run down the length of the soaker hose and eventually drip off, rather than falling in neat, patterned 'raindrop' style drips. Though I admit to never really observing it in an elevated state with this thought in mind....See MoreWhat do you with plants indoors during winter?
Comments (5)Hi Ann, Usually the plant will branch after it flowers. Some people cut their branches to make it branch out more, bur from what I read here on the forum, that delays the flowering, which is what most of us want. I read on here that you can help the flowering by the addition of a fertilizer in which the middle number is high. I think mine that I use is 10-50-10. I have also read that you want to stop feeding at approximately 90 days prior to the onset of the plant going dormant for the winter. After winter, when the plant wakes up, I read it is best to start off with a fertilizer that is higher on the first number. That promotes the growth, and then switch to the higher second number. As far as the time lines, I can't remember excatly when to switch. Someone smarter than me, and there are a bunch of them in here, will help you further. Hope that helps a little. Comments (9)As noted above, financing requires adherence to uniform standards. These have been developed for appraisals done for Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA and VA and are quite specific and detailed. Interestingly, though there is no (US) national standard on what constitutes a room. According to an article in the National Appraisal Roster: In general, a room is a kitchen, a bedroom, a living room, a dining room, a family room, an office, a study or a den. Rooms do not have to be divided by walls as long as there is space for the intended function. In many markets, an open concept design or floor plan has been used, which typically encompasses a kitchen, dining room and living room. In such situations, the open area, sometimes referred to as a “Great Room”, would usually be counted as three rooms even though there are no walls to separate those areas. Bathrooms, breakfast nooks, storage rooms, mudrooms, laundry rooms, foyers and closets are not usually considered in the total room counts.* A 1920s downtown home I rented out had five bedrooms (and the usual for the era single bath). One set of tenants, I discovered, sub-leased out a 6'x12' attic nook with a window as a "bedroom" to a university student....See MoreRecipe Question; what do you make that is odd?
Comments (95)I haven't tried it, but it sounds crazy and delish and healthy: Dark chocolate on beet salad... Beets are a root vegetable that have a distinct earthy aroma and taste caused by the compounds geosim and pyrazine, Shelke says. Dark chocolate contains pyrazines, too. So when you combine it with beets, you get a robust earthiness with a hint of sweetness and bitterness that will talk to your taste buds. Try topping a beet salad with dark chocolate crumbles...See MoreUser
