I've been enjoying it very much. Like the Lagina's, I remember reading the article about Oak Island in the Reader's Digest and have been fascinated with it ever since.

It really goes to show how much effort is involved in even uncovering the basics of what went on on that island....and yet that tantalizing knowing that something big did happen there.

There was that stone that disappeared that had that mysterious writing on it from Oak Island. I always wondered if it was in the same language as the mysterious writing on the Georgia Guidestones...

I've always been fascinated by the story and mythology behind "Oak Island". I think I've seen episodes in the past, perhaps from a previous season. In the last one I saw they still hadn't found anything of actual value, and only a few things of some archaeological interest. The episodes I saw seemed a little like the show "Dateline" where they take about two paragraphs worth of information and between asking questions, and interviewing everyone involved, and conjecture from experts, and dramatizations and flashy graphics and telling that they are going to tell you something after this commercial break, and re-capping what they just talked about prior to the commercial break, they stretch it out to an entire hour.

I'd love to hear they had uncovered a fabulous treasure, but I fear that they may be intentionally stretching it out because they have already determined there is no treasure, and they've decided the TV show and the publicity is all the treasure they will get.

Two guys I knew years ago worked on the ship that found and recovered the SS Central America (IIRC) though they were merely working on the boat and never received any of the vast treasure that was found.

We have been hooked since the first episode! It keeps us coming back. I hope they do find something. They have found some very interesting items so far.

DH and I have been hooked since season one. The Lagina brothers have such a tight bond and it's so heartwarming to watch them support each other through this often difficult quest. The whole crew is great.

I would love to know how much has been spent to date.

DH is hooked on this series too. Though he is tiring of it - he said the other night that he really doesn't think they're ever going to find anything there. Because once they do, the show will be over!

if they could get away with it, bet they'd be looking for "investors" for their project... it's "reality" TV.

I find the Lagina's sincerity and genuine caring for all the people and parties involved very refreshing.

I only saw some of the episodes of the first 3 years of it. I did watch all of last years'. And all of this season will be recorded just in case I do miss one. I am hooked! Some of the things they have found are pretty interesting, and I really believe they are indicative that some sort of treasure is buried there. I hope there is! I hope the Laginas find it. I think they will. And I really REALLY want them to find something mind-blowing! It wouldn't end the series, it would open up endless possibilities for many many future shows. History could be changed. Think of the knowledge that could be gained! So many mysteries and questions that could be answered!
