An over the refrigerator cabinet is supposed to be attached on at least 3 different sides and multiple points per side. So, both sides and the top, a side, the top and the back or the back and both sides. So, you likely need a panel on one side and then the over the ref cabinet and then the pantry. The panel is attached to the base cabinet side and the wall cabinet. The over the ref cabinet is attached to the panel, the back wall and the side of the pantry. There are a couple of other issues to think about - the location of the electricity (so the unit can be plugged in but not have the plug push the ref too far forward off the receptacle), the depth of the ref and how built-in you'd like it to look (in case you need to pad stuff forward a bit), plus keeping the ref doors in front of the panels and the pantry doors. Also consider if the pantry doors bind on the ref doors and check that the handles on the pantry can't be hit by the ref doors when open. Also the height of the ref door hinges and whether your total ceiling height allows for the cabinet size you've chosen plus a little extra for those hinges, leveling the ref and leveling the cabinet run. The ref manufacturer will specify some gaps for air circulation, check those too. If you think you'll bend the cabinets or panels with the weight load, attach some 1/2" ply to the back of the pantry cabinet in front of the dust cover that ikea supplies - meaning inside the cabinet. It needn't be complete - more like a 6-8" tall strip at the top and bottom and then in middle. Ikea drawers are not full depth so their function will not be impacted in any way. Just screw right through it when installing the cabinet. Another weirdo thing to remember about tall cabinets like the pantry. You need more height than the height of the cabinet to stand it up. Double check that before attaching the feet.

The Ikea website says the max load is 55#. I am not sure if that corresponds to every single size of drawer, but it would probably be hard to get 55# into the smaller drawers. The different drawer sizes actually have different assemblies depending on their size. The larger drawer sizes give you an extra 4 screws to screw in to the glides to support more weight. Also, the wider drawers have a little brace that screws into the middle of the bottom of the drawer and connects it to the drawer front to help support them. I have 5 10" deep, 36" wide drawers in my kitchen, but I still haven't filled them yet. I am finding having so much drawer space means I won't have to stack a lot of things so I'm hoping that they won't be getting too heavy. I am putting my plates in the 30" drawers and they are stacked. So far, the drawers seem to be handling it fine.

Short night sleep! Got to bed at 2am. Up at 7am. Now its lunch time. The old machines are on the lawn. The new machines are in the basement but not hooked up. What was I doing at 7am, waiting for 7:30! to call the electrician to see if I could get my 240 setup for both machines and with an appropriate outlet. Currently the 240 is just a wire that gets hard wired into the dryers. So I need dedicated outlets for each machine. Guess What, I have the electrician getting here after lunch!!! I have taken pics of the plugs and the canadian manual specs for the dryer and the washer, I hope that these manuals are the same as for the American sets. Anyone know? Then after getting the go ahead on the electrician at 7:30 this morning, I called the plumber. Guess What, he is able to come today too and redo some funky plumbing for these machines. He has a hand cart too and helped us get the machines into the basement. He will put in a box for a nice shutoff and the drain. And Guess What! DH is on board with pouring a low platform to set them side by side, so that when the basement gets water on the floor these wont be standing in water!!! We live in an old house. The house is high and dry, but when the eves are overflowing and dumping water directly into the soil next to the foundation it practically runs through the old clay block foundation walls of the basement. We can get some water puddles in areas next to the wall, across from where the set will be, but I want to be sure the feet are never in water. Things are rolling along! I'll link some pics in a bit.
