Need GW links!

I’m away visiting family and accidentally deleted my cache on my iPad, so I lost my main GW link.

I was able to get here by looking at one of the GW changes threads on Houzz and copying the link BUT I can’t navigate to other GW forums and it directs me to the Houzz layout. Help!

If anyone can share some of the GW links that would be great. Thanks!

Looking at the code it seems the link is coded as a form button instead of a hyperlink. That's why there's no right click or no new tab/window.

I installed Chrome and as you said the center click works on every site but this one. Irma and all, this is the way that works best for me: Type all of the text I want to type - my entire post, including my signature at bottom. Links are the very last thing I do. Using the mouse, highlight the words that I want to link. Click on "Link". The words that I just highlighted will appear in both boxes. Delete the words from the lower box. In a separate tab, open the page that I am going to link. Highlight and copy the web address. Go back to the "Link" box, paste that address in the lower box, and click on "Insert". Then click "Submit" to finish my post. Maybe this is helpful, maybe not. :) Carol in Jacksonville

Thank you. Unfortunately the first one shows up like old GW, but when I select any of the forums they are in the new Houzz format.

The Decor link also directs me to the new mixed up Houzz version.

At least I am able to get Decorating Conversations and Kitchens in the GW format!

We had this conversation a while back with someone else complaining about this phenomenon, you type in the ths.gardenweb etc. address. and it converts to houzz . . . At that time, I gave the person the link just as czarinalex did above.

Then it happened to me on my laptop and I was unable to change it. I got around it slightly by using the web address for Home Dec Conversations, but still, when I went to Home Dec, there I was at the Houzz version.

Then magically, it stopped. My laptop once again was taking me to the ths.gardenweb home dec forum. I have no idea what's happening.

I'm thinking about getting a new laptop and worry this might happen to me! Knock on wood I have links that work (so far) for all the forums I frequent but who knows what will happen with a new device?

ugh! I now understand what everyone has been complaining about! New computer here so I had to log in... for some reason, some of the forums I regularly visit appear as normal, but some forums (like this one) are formatted completely different. The only way I could find the 'conversations' side was by searching back through my own comments because I remembered posting on this thread. Houzz made me select at least one "topic" when I logged in and that seems to apply as a filter to the posts and forums somehow, but I haven't quite figured out the logic they're using yet. It is ugly. :p

Same thing happened to me. So I googled "homedecorating conversations+gardenweb" and it worked. There are probably better ways but this avoided frustration for me.

But then Houzz gave me a million popups some of which were difficult to delete. The back button helped but I fear I will run out of cheap tricks.

I find it goes back and forth, one day it's the format that I like then it's the new style format. I just deal with it. Mostly it happens when I am looking at the laundry forum. Seems like this forum is formatted the way I like it all the time.

Anyone, type gardenweb.com in the search bar. It will take you to the main page for the forums. Bookmark that or I put a shortcut.

If you find you are on the Houzz page, tap or click on Stories & Advice, then tap or click on Gardenweb Discussions. That will take you to the old format. If you are using a desktop, just hover the mouse over Stories & Advice to bring up a screen, then click on Garden Web Discussions.

Sorry, Sherry, but that just doesn't work for many of us. It just triggers a houzz redirect when the page you choose loads. For me, the only way now to ever see the GW format is to log in from a page that doesn't yet have a houzz evil twin, like Cooking, Kitchen Table, or Hot Topics, then navigate from there. If not not logged in, I always get the houzz version of any page, including this one.

Different people are plagued by this to different extents. It seems to be the luck of the draw for which server you get connected to.

I just logged out. Went straight to the houzz page. saw the new format, followed my directions above. It works for me on my desktop Acer/Windows/10/Google chrome. It also worked on my Ipad Mini.

Have you deleted all your Houzz shortcuts from your computer? Here is the web Id. If you type it in manually, it should take you to GW.
