Comments (12)r_murray those pots are nice and I bet they will last longer than the store bought ones. I might have to try that this summer. LOL So many projects.......so little time....... I was thinking....if I take 2 pots exactly the same....put the cement in one......smoosh it on the sides............put the other one inside the first one, with the cement in it......let it cure for a while....then take pots off???? Or maybe just use the one pot...will have to work it out. I will have to play with this for a while and figure it out. Will check out the hypertufta forum too. That grout sealer.......I just don't know. If I can only put it on the grout and it cant get on the mirror then I have a problem with that. I dont know if I have enough patience (sp?) to wipe it all off of the mirrored area. I did seal it with polyurethane, will have to post pics later.....photobucket not cooperating right now. Comments (42)hi feisty68. thanks much for inquiring!!!! the answer to your question is an old maine expression: "slower than molasses going uphill in the winter." it seems that phrase is also the motto of new york contractors. the house is now freshly roofed. most of the window cut-outs are in the right place, but the porch columns look (in photo) unevenly spaced and.......ok, you get the drift. best (?) is response from contractor (who still owns the house) to one of my many questions. he texted back......."don't poke the bear!" good news is that half those terra cotta tiles are on site; the rest are in my car scheduled for friday departure to new york. am also bringing a giant supply of "molasses melter!"...See MoreWhite Or Black Grout?
Comments (14)Good point on he trim. I will look around at other options! But the way I cook, Like my grandma taught me, things can get really messy really fast. I make big meals, with lots of ingredients. And do splash the back splash almost every meal. This is why I think I will be going with a darker color. I think it will look fresher longer. Unlike my old apartment that has red, brown, and green patches stained into the white grout. We also have the tile placed close, with no huge grout lines. So I think it will not look to busy or dirty once it filled in, and not just gaps....See MoreMedallion WIP... grout suggestions, please
Comments (10)Thanks, all! I'm cutting all this tile myself, in my very masculine oversized coveralls in the driveway. I'm sure the neighbors think I'm nuts. LOL The small squares are about half an inch, to give you an idea of the proportion. Funny you should mention pewter gray. Gray hadn't even occurred to me until last night when an artist friend suggested it. I'm in love with the idea! I think pewter gray with contrast nicely with all the tile but will not take attention away from the tile. I just requested a grout sample chart online and then realized that it was an ordering site for architects. So we'll see if Laticrete follows through and sends the samples. I have some Delorean Gray from Home Depot that I'm thinking might work, but I'd love to see everything else that's available. I want to know my options. Jenel...See More- 6 years ago
