View in Windows Store 3. Then the link goes to TWINUI ~ I know it's an application, but how do I know it's safe? I've seen it before but I don't really know what it is. I guess that's when I tuned off. EmmaR ~ This looks a little cleaner (clearer) but again it said to shop at the Windows 8 store - I'm still learning W8, so I always figure store = $ or the download would be on Amazon as I expected. Thanks to you both - I'll figure it out now, just feel silly to ask since I know I'm a couple of years behind. You get older, you lose brainpower. Not so LOL., but true. Darn.

I am not very familiar with the fire, but here's a couple things to try that work on most android tablets. Hold down the power button for a very long time, some times that works, I mean a really long time 20 seconds usually. Then hit the power button again if it doesn't start right away. Next hold down the power button and the volume up button together at the same time again for a long time. It will usually reset. If not plug in the charger leave it for 10-15 minutes, try doing all of the above steps with it still plugged in. I don't know if it has a tiny reset button, usually have to stick a paper clip into the little hole to push it. Some tablets have one. Look at your manual to see if it shows one. There's some very good Kindle forums you can ask there. I wish I knew more but I don't own one.

The second of two steps that suzieque posted, regarding removing books from your Kindle: "2) then go to Amazon.com on your computer and find "Manage Your Kindle". That'll show everything you've downloaded. Find the book you want to delete and on the right hand side under "Actions", click delete." I don't have an issue with suzieque's first step in the process, but I personally disagree with this second step. If your goal is to remove the book from your Kindle device to free up space (or for any other reason), all you need to do is step 1. What's the harm in leaving the book in your Kindle items in your Amazon account??? You have one heck of a huge amount of storage space in the Amazon cloud; and should you ever want to read the book again, or check something in it, etc., you can do that as long as it's in your account. Yes, if it's not in your Amazon account you can still download it again as long as Amazon still has it available; but even if it's available it might not be free at that time. An example: a book I downloaded for free in January of last year is Unbillable Hours: A True Story. I thought it was great, and told my husband (who is an attorney) that he should download it to his Kindle, too. But, it was $11.99 when he went to download it, so he passed on that and he read it on my Kindle. I just looked up the book on Amazon, and today the Kindle price is $8.99. So, I never delete any of my downloads from my account on Amazon. ~*~*~*~ When I bought the book: Here it is today:

I pre-ordered my Fire when I first heard about it. I have had my K2 for nearly two years and love it. I had a little difficulty at first since I am techie challenged (!). Once I was told about getting a stylus, I went straight out and bought one, and that really made a 100% improvement getting around the Fire-no problems since. I have both my email accts loaded on it and I love seeing all the covers of my books etc. in color-the color on the Fire is really good. For Fire owners they offer an Free APP each day, a really big variety of Apps and 100 Free ones, plus the ones you can purchase. I am hooked on Words With Friends which I play with my DD who lives in another state. I also am hooked on Angry Birds-my family couldn't believe that when I told them, both of these Apps were free. So anyone that is thinking & hesitating about getting the Fire, I do recommend it. I participate in a Kindle forum and have learned so much and also got loads of freebies to read! I know people rave about their Ipads, but it has far more features on it than I would ever use, plus it is so pricey Pat
