Cleaning fan on power supply

The fan on my power supply only has been running intermittently lately and making quite a bit of noise while doing so. So far, it hasn't seemed to affect the performance of the computer, but the box does seem to get a bit hot.

I bought some compressed air to clean it, but my fan seems to be positioned differently than most--horizontally rather than vertically. Therefore, I can't blow air straight through it. Should I just blow the air through the holes over the top of the fan and try to angle that air towards the back of the computer where there are some ventilation holes? I don't want to remove the power supply from the computer, because I'd probably never get it back in properly. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
