Hysterectomy - Ovaries or Not?

First, I WILL discuss this further with my doctor. I'm simply interested in your experience/knowledge while waiting for that appointment.

I will by having a hyst. due to enlarged fibroids. I'm 60. The doctor (young and up on things) wants to take everything .... uterus, ovaries, tubes. I just had a consult the other day and now I've been reading. Of course .... I'm well aware that there are different opinions in real life and on the internet.

Much of what I'm seeing online says to try to keep the ovaries (as they continue to produce small amounts of estrogen) even after menopause as long as there's not a significant risk of ovarian cancer. There isn't.

So - for those of you know know things from your experiences or studies, what do you have to say about it all? Thanks!
