I think you just need a little work on your furniture arrangement and a little tweaking of art and accessories to get the feeling you want. Here are a few ideas, take them or leave them: 1. Move the matching chairs together. I think you could put them in front of the fireplace on either side, or put them together opposite the TV, with the square side table in between them. 2. The big chair and ottoman don't seem to have a good place to go in the room. They are hard to fit in-- I know because I have one very similar! I would move it to another room, and look for a bench or chaise to put in front of the fireplace. 3. I think a bigger square coffee table or ottoman would work better. You maybe could use the one from the big chair, with a big tray on it for drinks etc. 4. The white furniture seems a bit more cottage style, and your other furniture a bit more Mission and transitional. I think you either need to bring in more white with fabrics or paint the white pieces a softer color, like the stone in your fireplace. 5. I would clear out all your accessories and decide exactly what you want to use. I wouldn't put anything but the TV on your stand. I think that gorgeous fireplace could use a big mirror or piece of art, and then add a few photos or candles. 6. I like the idea of painting the ceiling the wall color! I think it would look great. 7. Your map is cool. I like it, but don't think it relates to anything in the room, especially color wise. 8. You could do some fabric valances, or roman blinds... 9. I would move the wall clock to a smaller wall. Hang up your game boards above the bookcase, and space out your fans so you can see them better. :) Jen...See MoreHelp finding a tan sectional!
Comments (0)Hey guys! I’ve been shopping for a new couch for a house we are building. I found these two from Article that I love but am a little skeptical on quality based on some reviews on here I’ve seen. Seeking similar colors and style at a comparable price point. I loved the swatches in person and either tone would work. We can’t really go more expensive than this so please stay within these prices! Comfort and quality are important but I understand our budget won’t get us the fanciest and nicest. Any suggestions? Or any experience with Article couches? A little more rustic or slightly darker than the darker of the two would be great too! Nothing anymore modern than this please :) Thank you! Comments (6)MGAL, I seriously considered the Article sofa but decided I wasn't thrilled with some of the reviews. I've been shopping around and decided to go with Natuzzi instead. They have a decent reputation and I saw their very similar version of the Article sofa and was very pleased with it. Lots of leather color options, 2 grades of leather from which to choose, and two different sizes as well. I'm going with this style that I think is very close to the Sven. It's full top grain leather. The price was very comparable, if not a bit less expensive if you catch a sale....See MoreWould you mix tan and gray, or leather and gray?
Comments (2)At this link, there are some pictures of Tan couch and gray chair And Brown couch and gray chair Here's a link on 'decor trends ending in 2020'. Decor trends This is a comment within one of the articles - "The gray on gray on gray trend has got to go," one designer pleads, while many others chimed in that the all-gray or all-white look is too sterile and cold for an everyday living. In fact, the majority of designers agreed that we're going to see less cool grays and whites in 2020. "Gray will move into an accent position, and no longer be a main color," one said. What will replace it? "Warmer colors will be stronger than ever in the coming year," predicts our own major appliances and home design editor, Cindy Bailen, who says she finds all-gray rooms depressing. Both she and the Sherwin-Williams panel are hopeful for palettes that include beige, warmer neutrals, and greens (Behr's 2020 color of the year is a sage green shade). Designers also say there will be more of a focus on more playful decorating, when it comes to both colors and textures. One expert responded, "I feel like design trends are now leaning toward a mix/match style where just about anything goes together and where things should definitely NOT match!"...See Morekdhorton88
