I saw it night before last, too cloudy/raining last night. Tonight is supposed to our totally full Super Moon, or Yule Moon and the weather looks more promising for seeing it. Now if we just could get the holiday lights on the house later today, maybe it would be a postcard setting house scene here after dark ;0)

The moon lit up the backyard like a beam from a bright lamp. Then, this morning in the opposite sky, the moon was huge and bright as it was setting. I missed it, but Robert took pictures.

It was absolutely stunning! I got up around 3 to let our dog out & stood out on the back porch admiring it.

Best times to see it are just after sunset and just before sunrise. I caught it at both ends last PM and this AM, and will do so again today and tomorrow. It is the only super moon of '17.

I love celestial bodies and astronomy. Moon last night was spectacular. The news says Jan 1 and Jan 31 moon, the blue moon, s/b equally stunning.

I saw it at 5am this morning streaming so brightly through the bath room window. There was a light frozen fog in the air and that full moon shining through it made the air sparkle.

Mattias_lang, what a terrible waste of water! Where do you live that no one would come out to help you, especially considering the water was getting into houses?? I'm sorry you had to deal with this but yes, it's a good thing you had the bright moon that night.

We've got a city water 'key'...tool to turn the water off at the street. Helps to have had a BIL who worked for the water department. The last two houses we've had, have had iffy house shut offs at the house. One was obscured by new heat pump duct work and insulation in the basement. This house has one right outside the kitchen that is easy to get to but I don't quite trust it to shut off all the way and DH or my plumber can just go over the hill in back to the street below and turn off the water at the meter.

Yes, the moon is beautiful tonight. I had thought fog might cramp our viewing but its clear and shining brightly.

A couple of nights (early morning) ago, I saw it sinking in the west before sunrise. It was gorgeous.

I think that it's far more stunning right now (5:45 a.m.) than it was last night! It is really an amazing sight in the early dawn sky.

My fridge died, so I'm using the fridge in the landlord's shop, with a cooler in the house.

Enjoyed it on a couple of trips back and forth between the shop and the house, Sat. and Sun. nights, and after I'd turned off the kitchen light, en route to bed.

It's been BRIGHT for a few days. I was surprised to hear Sunday was "the full moon" it has been sooo bright!!
