Just installed a Kohler Levity shower door on a full bath remodel (we converted a full bath to a walk-in 3/4 bath). There is a major design flaw with this door, water leaks out from the bottom and sides of both panels and gets all over the floor. We visited the Kohler website and tried calling Kohler, but they don't have anyone answering phone calls for customer service. We went on Amazon.com and ordered generic silicone water seals to add to all sides of both panels in the hopes we can stop the water leakage. Overall, we are extremely disappointed with the design and performance of the shower door and with Kohler for that matter. The door is pretty and install is not terribly complicated (clear install instructions in the box and great install video on YouTube), the door just has some significant design flaws that Kohler needs to address.

thanks all! hopefully it will have a happy ending. this has worn me out, GC AWK-ward tension is right, hope to never remodel again. my bathroom is in dire need but out of money and given this experience would rather hook up an outside shower in the back yard and just keep the GC's portapottie in the front yard! :) i used to think i wanted to do a full house remodel, now i know why people want to buy move in ready! i have learned a lot, it has been a good experience, i have my earned my stripes. (hey, kitties already have their stripes, how is that?!?) the GC has generally been good and actually rescued me when the cab maker screwed up so i have to keep a balanced view of the overall experience. the two cabmakers the GC uses did not have demonstrated inset cab experience so he OK'd that i find my own cab maker. so i made the bad choice on the cab maker, all my fault. it was actually the cab makers finishing sub who screwed up - so the sub to the sub. and when the GC learned of this, instead of chewing me out, his exact words were: "what can i do to get this back on track?" and they picked up the door reorder and cab install on short notice when they were not planning for it (of course there was a change order involved and it did not come cheap). i thought the lesson learned was use only GC approved subs. but then the counter debacle happended. so now i think things can happen anywhere with anyone. not sure i could have done anything different - i did quiz the GC - did the fabricator have marble experience etc and was told yes. i have seen his work at my neighbors house (engineereed stone counter) and he did an excellent job and was told he does lots of natural stone. i have learned in my research that calacatta is very hard to work with and prone to chipping and you need specific equipment. what is troubling is the GC continued to defend him and the product, epoxy patches and all. yes, my little jasmine has quite dramatic eyes. her nickname is elizabeth taylor. i never noticed she is wearing glasses but you are right! i would TOTALLY recommend getting 2 kittens. kitten love is the best, it allows you to train them the way you want (as much as you can train a cat anyway) and the kitten stage does not last very long. really glad i got 2 from the same litter. they keep each other company when i am at work and they are good buddies. the orange one dominates little jasmine though, he runs the show. they were found at 5 days old, from a litter of 5 and were bottle fed from a foster and then put up for adoption. here is a pic from last night, babushka cat lying on his matching stone... I just accidentally went through this same debate with my bathroom remodel, which involved replacing a tub with a curbless shower. Here's what happened. When the plumber finished with his work, we wanted to test the shower, but of course I didn't have the glass installed (or even ordered) yet, so we took down the shower curtain and rod from the other bathroom and put it up to run the shower. And to my surprise, even with a curbless shower, the curtain worked fine! I figured I just saved myself about $2500 not buying the glass, and if I change my mind, the blocking is all still in the wall, ready for glass. Also, in my particular case, since this was a remodel, I had wanted a larger shower area and to move the toilet about 6 inches over to so that it wasn't too close to the glass shower wall (bumping my elbow when sitting on the john). However, the plumber strongly recommended against moving the toilet, especially since my house is on a slab foundation. In fact, he said, "I've got two kids in college - I'd be happy to take your money. But moving toilets often opens a whole can of worms and if it was my house, I wouldn't do it." I appreciated his honesty on that. Finally, my other consideration in this bathroom remodel and having the curbless shower was that I thought one of my elderly parents would be living with me at some point, and that it would need to be either walker- or wheelchair-accessible. The shower curtain lets me move the shower "wall" completely out of the way of the toilet, making both shower and toilet wheelchair-accessible.

Multiple thoughts: - I have glass doors, and while they are clean-able, they are definitely more work than shower curtains. - I am looking forward to having a shower curtain again because it brings in an opportunity for color and softness in the bathroom. - I don't know anything about the glass with coatings, but I put Rain-X on mine every so often ... it does cut down on the cleaning, but it's an extra chore. - if you're doing a stand-up shower, consider where you might use solid walls instead of glass. - A larger shower with a higher step-over ledge is less likely to leak with a shower curtain than is a minimal-sized shower. - Yes, kids can be taught to keep the water inside the shower.
