What color to paint island stool/chairs??
Comments (25)Thanks everyone! I think a soft black maybe the way to go, as I have alot of antique/vintage linens, china, silver pieces and feel more comfortable using accessories for color and not big hits. I will get chair pads made in a color - red or yellow ;-). Depending on cost maybe 2 sets. I love toile and am a gardener by trade so maybe some kind of toile with large botonical prints. I know I have alot of work to do in the adjoining room too. The Kitchen Tour also has local chefs, resturants & catering businesses set up in our kitchens, so I have to leave room for the tastings. I can use my own platters & dishes, linens. I will do up flowers for all rooms. The sunroom french doors will also be open and will let more light into the space. It will take me a few weeks to get everything painted and done up but I will post photo's when it's all done. Thank you so very much! oh .. teacats will you post a photo your stools? Anyone else with black chairs post too?...See MoreWhat color are your island pendant lights
Comments (3)I have colored pendants in my kitchen. They are the Otto pendant by Tech Lighting. I purchased them at a local lighting store. They are low voltage lights with 50 watt halogen bulbs. They are plenty bright and I love the way they provide both down light and overall room light. They were pricey but I couldn't find any others that I liked as well so I splurged on them. Mine are the smoke color. They come in several other colors to including blue. Here's the smoke ones in my kitchen: Here is the blue color as posted on Tech's website...See MoreWhat color should my island be?
Comments (13)I have to agree that using both those stones would be too much going on. I would pick one or the other, for perimeter or island, and then pick a solid for the other and a different floor. Or, just use one of the stones on everything, and a simpler floor. Keeping it simple keeps things from fighting with one another for attention. Here's a lovely kitchen with just white cabinets and the River White all around. And a nice wood floor. I love this look. Light and airy, easy on the eyes. I couldn't find your exact stones but this gives you an idea of what you were suggesting. Notice they kept the island the same color as other cabs. Here's something similar to what you were suggesting, though the island top and counter are reversed. However, it still gives you an idea. Now imagine this with a busy tile floor. It's a lot to look at. ;) Hope this helps!...See MoreWhat color to paint the island?
Comments (6)I also think black would be too contrasting. I’d keep it more tone-on-tone overall if Japandi is what you like. Here is some inspiration for you. https://superfront.com/global/inspiration/wood-collection...See MoreElms Interior Design
