HELLO! I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THESE WHITE WORMS IN MY TERRARIUM ARE???

To start off, I am just a novice terrarium owner, so if I have encountered any mistake, I hope you folks can tell me what I have been doing incorrectly.

I have been having my terrarium for around 3 days now, clean, with pill bugs, millipedes, snails and all those small, flying insects. I did not added the snails in and the flying insects in, guess there were eggs inside the soils I bought.

However, my indoor orchid have been suffering fungus gnats lately, and smell wet, moist and horrible (I did acknowledge that my brother went a bit with over watering the plants when I was oversea)

After the horrible gnats fungus problems, I started to notice that there were long, small, thin white worms inside my terrarium. I have only found two, but I guess there could be more? I do not know what these are, and I hope whether you folks could tell me if they are fungus worms or not?

Bugs you are mentioning usually live in "compost" - damp, wet and organic conditions. I do not know what plants you have in it, but it must be wet and very humid.

If your orchid smells horrible, it is most likely rotting. If my plant, I would take it out of rotting mess ASAP.

The level of humidity is FAR in excess of what most plants will tolerate as evidenced by that condensation.

One source says that sawfly larvae feed on white pine. Apparently they can come in all different colors. One reference said "Sawfly larvae caterpillars are variously colored but generally feed in groups on the needles. Some sawfly larvae will flex or rear back in unison when disturbed." Hi SunnyValley, From DianaMay's post on closed terrariums: "White furry mold should be rubbed gently with a finger to disturb it as soon as it is noticed. Usually it will not persist if you rub it down a few times." I had some mushrooms growing in one of mine, and then got some rust on the ferns. Let it air out a little and cut off the fronds with the rust, pulled all the mushrooms. Sounds like you might have some of that white mold Diana mentioned. I'd try to get rid of it. I see you've got an asparagus fern in there, though I'm not sure what the other plants are. I'd also get rid of the mushroom before it releases more spores. In general, it may simply be some spores that were in there or got in there, and that's what caused the mushroom to grow! No need to redo your terrarium, these things do clear up. The really tiny ones can be so transparent that it's hard to detect a color. But they pink up pretty quickly, in my experience. EDITED TO ADD: And by really tiny, I mean ones that are so newly hatched that you probably would not be able to see them easily in soil/compost. I just happen to come across them sometimes in the netting I use to help keep out flying critters. Even then, they're barely noticeable--I have to be looking for them.
