Having been a manager in a technical industry for over 20 years prior to retirement, my experience is that many people shotgun online applications and don’t even read the basic qualifications. (Oh, the stories I could tell you about the applications HR had to weed out.) So that would be my answer...apply for jobs they actually qualify for. (Edited to clarify per the question) Almost all jobs require online applications, at least in our industry. And none required cover letters. Follow up calls were made to HR only.

Thanks all! Lucille, I'll try to get a picture of it soon. My smart phone died and I haven't replaced it yet. Currently using an old flip phone with no internet. Wow! I had no idea it had that many definitions!

I think today's is a trick question, they originated with pumpkins. At least here in America. The idea probably came from somewhere else, using another vegetable, turnips, maybe?

And I could only come up with several definitions for each word....guess I should read the dictionary more often.
