Summer Song Austin - Where can I buy?
Comments (13)I also had Summer Song on order from Hortico so I wonder what the final story will be on that one. If you want to import roses from Europe, you will probably need an import permit and a quarantine area. The deal is that Canada can import from at least some European suppliers without the import restrictions. That is probably why it is easier to get some European roses more easily from Canada. Whatever the truth is, I am sure that I will have to wait to see what happens with my order. I have Benjamin Britten. It makes a big octopus shrub. It does bloom reasonably well. The flowers for me are small, only about 3 inches in diameter at their largest. The color when it first opens is almost a vermillion red color, but it fades to a deep almost watermelon pink. It does have some fragrance, but it is quite disease-prone in my yard, along with all the others. If you want this one, give it room. It can get anywhere from 6 to 10 feet tall and 4 to 5 feet wide. I will say that for the most part, it does not have much problem being hardy. It also seems to bloom better if you prune it hard in the spring. I whack mine off to between 2 and 3 feet in the spring just to keep it in line....See MoreHamilton question
Comments (31)Actually, tix here aren't that hard to get, and not nearly as expensive as in NYC. But for that particular performance, I wonder. When we gave DS tix for his graduation, we bought them about 6 months out, and wouldn't ya know, LMM was off that day. DS did get a great pic with the understudy, though....See MoreHave you seen Stomp?
Comments (25)I just bought my ticket to see Stomp at The Orpheum. So excited! I decided not to wait until I was in NYC, as my time there will really be at a premium and I didn't want to have to spend any of it chasing down tickets, and I'm pleased with my purchase. I decided to sit up close (second row on the aisle) so as not to miss the performers' facial expressions, which is said to add to the humor and overall enjoyment of the show. The Orpheum is 15 minutes from my hotel via subway. That's about 4 minutes walking from my hotel to the subway station going, and 4 minutes on the way back, and 7 minutes via the subway. I'm assuming this is a very safe option (understanding it may not be the sweetest-smelling)? I will be returning to my hotel after 10pm. It's not so much the safety of the subway I'm questioning, but the walking to and from. My hotel is on 57th, as is the subway station. I would imagine there will be people milling about all over the place, even fairly late at night. (OK, so 10:00 is late for me. Probably not for New Yorkers!)...See More“Hamilton” on Disney Plus this summer
Comments (3)As one of the seemingly few who has not seen it, I am very much looking forward to this. After my parents passed and the long time. to settle the estate, I considered taking a bit of money left to me too splurge on tickets and a trip to NYC. I hesitated -- it seemed extravagant and I was still in a bit of aa fog, then it was too late to see the original cast, which was important to me. I. still want to make a trip to NYC to see some shows when we all can, but this will help in the meantime....See Moremaire_cate
