Selling-need new shutters/roof/door color suggestions, please
Comments (10)Interestingly, blue has cycled back into popularity, so your door doesn't look dated, but maybe a slightly different shade of blue would look more up to date - not sure. Or a sophisticated gray - young buyers would love it. I would remove the storm door - which DOES date the house. Put a fresh coat of paint on the shutters, use the replacement roof as a bargaining tool with the buyers. Let them mention it, agree to replace, and allow them to choose the color. Put a nice seating arrangement on the porch and some planters. I would put some money into renovating the landscaping. I would consider getting rid of the some of the large shrubs in front of the house. The plant on the right side of the sidewalk looks terrible right now. Unless it looks super wonderful when it leafs out, maybe that's not what you want there. Drive around to some builder's model homes and look at their landscaping for ideas. The cupula over the garage is darling. Maybe you could put copper siding on it? Prettier mailbox and street numbers? Prettier light fixture? Comments (8)I did not provide enough information and also my photos were not detailed enough to show that the actual (brand new) WINDOWS (from Window World) are NOT the same color as the old painted wood surrounding them. We think it will be impossible--and not look particularly good--to paint the wood to "match." They are a shade of beige, but it appears to have a slight undertone of green to it. We wanted to keep the shutters to add more color, but I get your point and appreciate your feedback!...See MoreNew Roof...Tired Exterior Paint...Open to All Suggestions
Comments (2)Your new roof has a blue tone to it. I would do a greyed blue. This mock-up is Andes Summit. Think about getting a new door. The one you have now lean Victorian. I can see a contemporary wood style. You might want to remove the fan grids from the garage windows....See MoreNew Paint and Roof Color Suggestions Needed
