Thanks for the tip! I had originally thought to put the vase on top, but it seems unstable as it doesn't have a large base to sit on. Aside from putting a scroll in the middle, any other thoughts? Is there someway I can use the 3 columns to form one large painting?

I think it would be kind of cool to put an indoor fountain up there. The contrast with the fireplace would be interesting.

I would do a monochromatic wallpaper on the recessed area to the left and right and put nothing else. The middle would get a long tall painting.

Thanks for the ideas everyone! Celerygirl, thanks for the mock-up! I also came across that painting from Houzz. I do agree that it may seem a little busy like that. However, I do agree that a painting of similar sort in the middle would look great. My problem is, I have no idea where to find such a painting, as it would be very specific to the size of the wall. Do you have any suggestions on a website/store that would sell such tall painting arrangements?

Decoenthusiaste, that is a great idea for coloured fabric. I think a panel would be better, but I am also unsure of where to buy such large/tall panels. Do you have any recommendations as to where I may find these for purchase?

Or you can look for wall art at Etsy, graphic, geometry or abstract , different sizes and the same motif.

Plus, those sofas are already kind of dated looking. I think you'd be better off to look for something more classic, even a traditional chesterfield.

Ult, I actually think you need to hire a professional for this fantastic room. The scale of furniture is very important here as well as lighting and art. You need things that feed off each other. I don't think (in this case) individual areas of opinions and ideas are what you need. You need a vision of a whole. Start a scrap book of rooms you love. Start asking around or exploring professionals near you. Then, Interview to get a feel of who you can work with within your budget.

I'd also try to place the vases on the shelf. You could use fine wire to attach them to the wall for stability.

I like your furniture, but think 3 matching pieces is too much matching. If you can use the chair and/or loveseat elsewhere in your home, I'd get some different chairs to provide some interest and contrast and color.

My second vote for a fountain. The sound would be soothing too.

Fountains involve water, often a source of mold an mildew, etc. Lovely concept but not an installation you can put in and forget about - maintenance continues.
