I feel your pain. In Denver we had a record high of 84 yesterday. Twenty four hours later it has dropped to the low 30s and is snowing!

Cold here tonight too but just a little wind - no snow flakes. And suppose to be only 45 with morning rain showers on Saturday for Trick or Treat, bummer, hopefully no rain at that time, if it's cold the kids can at least wear coats over their costumes.

Again I say, this is why my mom and her 8 siblings left Fargo, one by one, 1940-1955. At least they brought their stories with them (of snow corridors higher than their heads, to get to school, etc.)

Yup - white stuff coming down as we drove into our lake place in northern MN tonight. And the wind about blew me off the road on the way. Supposed to be more snow tonight and I imagine it will stick until the sun comes out and it warms up above freezing. Oh well, sitting in front of the fire and getting ready for a weekend with college girlfriends.

You'll think I'm crazy, but after a record setting warm October in Maine, with temps in the 70s, and drought til yesterday with some heavy rain - yay - 3" in my area, I'm almost jealous. Fall is my favorite season and it just hasn't been fall-ish here at all. I haven't turned on my furnace or gas fireplace yet.

Wow! We found ND a great place to visit, but wouldn't want to live there!

I remember driving in SD and seeing gates that looked like RR crossing gates with signs the highway is closed. Why bother plowing??? No place to go, no way to get there. :)

Wow! I'm just happy to see temperatures 20º cooler than earlier in the week when it hit 100º F. I can't even imagine snow and @Fori, I am happy there's no ash.

Wow, 3katz! I am looking forward to snow, but it won't be here in Northern VA for a while, I'm sure. Might not be quite as much fun as other years since I am now retired and I won't be glued to the tv looking to hear that our school district is closed for a snow day! Ha. I love snow.

Yep, northern MN. The snow didn't really melt all weekend. I thought it was just going to be a dusting and gone the next day. It was very beautiful in the woods. Here's a view toward the lake.

SO not ready for that yet! It has been very warm but the temp has gotten cold - thought I would freeze while I supervised my DFS2 planting my amaryllis bulbs on the terrace today. My feet are still cold!

Oh, and Faron, the title of your post had me wondering what got all over your car. It never occurred to me here in Northern VA that you meant snow! I am thoroughly enjoying all the beautiful photos. Pouring rain here right now, which is most welcome-we really needed it.

3katz- In mid-August, DW & I went on a little mini-vac. Drove up to Grand-Rapids, & stayed there. Then off to the E/NE. Hooked up with Hwy 61 eventually, & drove up to Grand-Marais. Had to have pizza at Sven & Ole's don'cha know!!! Then down to Duluth for a couple nights.

Then down to Mpls for a night, where we saw "Power-Balladz" at Chanhassen. Fun stuff!!!

Got backyard done for the winter now, except for some final leaf pickup. Trying to finish yard stuff b4 I'm in a cast this Thursday!!! Our tiny bit of snow is gone. Think we hit 50 today?!
