JeCrigler Is that yours? It's adorable! I know what it is but have not used one. If I had one that looked like that I probably would use it. :D Groovy haha

I had one back in my college days. Portable hair dryer!

No that’s not mine but I had one. I really liked it as it was a soft dry and covered the curlers I had in my hair!! Made a nice poofy 60’s hairdo!!

Mine was a GE. It was pink. It lasted over 20 years! I still have the 'heated curlers' gizmo that I also used -- BIG rollers. I had a lot of long, thick hair...neither long nor thick now, boo-hoo.

Oh, absolutely. I used to get up before school, wash my hair and roller set it, put the bonnet on while laying back in bed while my hair dried.

Me too, every Saturday night so I'd be ready for church on Sunday morning.

My older sister had one, but I don't remember what color it was.

I used a hairdryer like that too, and mine had a small wick-type stick that you could first dip into perfume before drying for nicely scented air!

Mine wasn’t that fancy! No perfumed hair for me!!

I'd forgotten about the nail dryer part, and really really forgotten about the strap that let you make it portable. Wow. Long long long time ago

I had one as a teenager. My hair was long & I always got so tired sitting under that hair dryer waiting for my hair to dry. Oh the good old days.

OMG! I was just thinking about those the other day! I got one for Christmas when I was a preteen.

I had one minus perfumer feature. Wouldn’t it be insane if this came back?

I doubt they will make a comeback, but I think they were gentler on hair than the hot blow dryers we have today. I don’t even dry my hair anymore. It’s short with a perm.

Oh yes. In the 60’s I had one and would sometimes fall asleep while it dried my hair with the big rollers in my hair.

Had one very similar when I was in high school in the '60's. I also slept with rollers in my hair. I haven't dried my hair in about 50 years....glad I don't do that any more.

My mom had one that was pink. On the night before the first day of school, she would roll my hair and my sister's hair in big rollers and then put us under the hair dryer. Then we'd have to sleep in the rollers and she'd comb out and style our hair the next morning before school. I mostly remember how uncomfortable it was to sleep with those big rollers.

My sister and mother had one back in the 1950s. Its a hair dryer and ours got double duty on Saturday night when the ladies were preparing for Sunday.

When I used to wear my hair crunched up in a style very similar to this

My stylist used to put me under the stand up model hair dryer and set it on low. My hair was so bouncy, whereas when I styled it myself, it looked more like I had electrocuted myself, ha. I remember wanting to have my own stand dryer but never did anything about it. The bonnet thing would have worked also, I’m sure.

Oh I remember the days. Not one cellphone.

JeCrigler. That picture brings back such memories. Back in the 60's I'd go to the salon with my mom. I loved watching all the girls under the spaceship dryers. They did all have a magazine but none of them were reading them because they were too busy talking.

Anyone remember using soup cans for curlers?

I have a picture of me using my mothers when I was about 6 or 7 years old. If I remember tonight, I'll scan it and post it. :)

I guessed the picture right, but no we never had one ourselves. It makes sense that it would be more gentle than hot air blow-dryers that came in with the 70's. My mom went to a beauty parlor every couple of weeks. Looking back, this must have been her "me time" because she very rarely took any of us kids along. Fun memories!

That’s true, the salon was a relaxing getaway.

Yes, my mom had a 1940s dryer -- it was like today's blow dryers (only must have weighed a ton) and I was so happy when I worked to be able to afford one of these new bonnet type hair dryers! LOL! Which I traded in a few years for the new "blow dryer".

Yes, I have had a few over the years. I still use one, I never ever use a blow dryer on my hair. You can still buy them in stores.

The women in the beauty shop photo are wearing NYLONS and little heels! They are reading NEWSPAPERS, not scandal magazines! Everyone is wearing a skirt; no PANTS.

I remember a meeting at which one woman said she had hardly slept on her wedding night. (No, no, not what you are thinking!) She wanted to be sure to get up before her husband so she could style her hair. He'd never seen her without her 'do'. She had four children at this point, so I guess he may have seen her hair in its natural state, and worse, by then.

Mama, we didn't use soup cans for rollers, but did use frozen orange juice concentrate cans. A little smaller.

Before the scrunched up look, I wore a Farrah Faucett inspired do. I used these size rollers. Got under

the bonnet Dryer for about 1 hr. I SLEPT on these. I don’t know how. I may have been cranky the next morning but oh, my hair looked fabulous.
