Paint suggestions to match Brown Fantasy counter

Just moved to our “new to us” home and eager to tear out the moss green corian countertops. Fell in love with a Brown Fantasy (leather) countertop. Am wondering what color SW paint would go well with the cabinets, Durango Noce tile backsplash & floor and the Brown Fantasy countertop. Any suggestions? The kitchen opens up to the great room which I believe is painted Pioneer Beige or something like that. That will eventually be repainted also but I don’t have it in the budget to do now.

It's going to depend on the lighting in your room. I would look for beige or gray with that looks more green.

Backsplash tile in my opinion does not go at all.

I am not crazy about it but I am stuck with it until I can afford to change it. So that being said, do you have a suggestion for a paint color for the walls?

We chose ceasarstone for the countertop in one of our bathroom remodels. It has not been completed yet so I don't have pictures, but I chose it to go with slate floors and porcelain/slate shower and alder cabinets. I was told that you have to buy a whole slab so its not economical if you have a small space to do, but we have a long counter so it worked. I did not want to do granite because I have never been on the granite bandwagon, for kitchens or bathrooms, and was looking for durable alternatives. The ceasarstone website shows lots of really modern options but I bet a google image search or something on www.houzz.com could show you color options that aren't super modern. Our bathroom is the opposite of ultra modern in our wood trim, mountain home. I chose paperstone counters in another bathroom but that might not be what you are looking for. It's not shiny and has more of a honed quality look to it. Its durable though (that was chosen for the kids bath).

I tested a polished but unsealed fantasy brown sample with vinegar, red wine, and mustard. The brown bits etched a little, but the greenish and white areas didn't. Nothing stained it. I felt that it was much more robust than marble. The only reason I didn't use it is because I had two corners I didn't want to try to book match. Your slab is beautiful.

I'd personally pick only one "star of the show" -- either the cabinets, or the counter top -- and then do a very simple backsplash. I think cream with brown glaze cabs would fight with the stronger movement of the Fantasy Brown counters. It sounds like you love the Fantasy Brown more, and if it were me, I'd pair FB with very dark brown cabinets instead of white (assuming your kitchen gets plenty of natural light).

I think the larger particles are going out of style. They were among the first designs offered in quartz, and that dates back to the early to mid 90s. I seldom see anyone show it as a candidate on the forum. Six years ago when I did my kitchen it was more common. I'd stick with the small particle quartz in the white or the light gray. I like the warm tone of the light gray but it may not have the same undertone of the island, so you'll want to check that carefully. Same with the white colors and your white cabinets.

The durango is already in place, and i can't change it at this time. There really isn't much backsplash because I have a lot of open areas. But the green corian must go and I will need to deal with the durango at another time. So I am looking for a color to make the brown fantasy and the durango work as much as possible.

I understand not being able to replace the tile; but if the plan is to replace it when you can afford to, I would demo the tile when you take out the counters. I would not want to demo tile once my brand new counters were in. Skim coat/sand, repair the walls as needed and just paint until you are ready to tile.

Look at BM Pale Oak...looks slightly warmer than Vale Mist in my house.

I must be totally color blind because I don’t think the three samples in the photo look horrendous. Lol. Thank you all for the tips. I won’t be painting the backsplash, to me that looks worse. I hate the green corian worse than I hate the noce backsplash (although I really do dislike it strongly). I will keep looking for a paint color or another granite that would work.

SW accessible beige. SW Jogging path? Or another color from that strip? Since you have a tile, I'd take it the paint store and see what chips work. Neutrals are hard to gauge on a screen.

The tile combo wouldn't be my first choice either, but it doesn't look twrrible in your picture. I'd deal with that backsplash for those counters anyday!

Have you thought about continuing the slab as the backsplash? I’m not sure it would be much more expensive than tile but may be an idea. I would paint the cabinets a putty color. Similar to this
