Have you cleared cache and history lately? That should help. The best practice is to set it to remember nothing.

Do you turn off your PC after a day's use? Do you keep a lot of Firefox tabs and windows instances on at the same time? Do you have the most recent version downloaded?

If you're already attentive to these things, then I'm not sure what the problem is. Firefox has recently touted that it's slimmed down to use less resources when on, that doesn't seem to be what you're experiencing.

Clear cache/history was the first things I did. No difference. I'm doing nothing different that I haven't done for yrs. FF is latest version (maybe that's the problem).

Maybe try uninstalling it completely, wait a few days, and then reinstall.

Elmer, I did the Firefox "refresh" & seems to have helped so far.

I've had the same problem. Ever since the last "update". Very annoying, but I'm glad that I'm not the only one with the problem.

Yes, sush, like I mentioned above, it was after the last update. I'm looking at other browsers now like seamonkey and pale moon -- both Mozilla & similiar to FF but slimmer.

NEWS FLASH! There's a new update and it seems to cure the problem. Just tonight.

Interesting, we haven't had a similar problem here with Firefox. All of the home PCs have lots of browsers to choose from - Int Explorer/Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and I even have Opera on a couple. When one isn't happy, I change to another. I think that's a good practice, not all updates are created equal and some can have isolated problems. Or, even bigger, website incompatibilities.

sushipup, yes, FF updated, so now not sure if that solved my issue or the "refresh". Doesn't really matter, but I'm gonna install some other browsers anyway as Mr Fudd mentioned -- a good idea. Oh yeah, the update solved my black menu bar problem too -- back to light gray.

Well, I did the refresh way before I joined this discussion, and it did nothing. But the latest update instantly solved the problem.

Well, the new noscript updated itself to version 10. And, yes, it is very difficult to understand. I had to disable it to log on to a site because I couldn't figure it out (and it prevented me from logging on). But I should be able to eventually. It doesn't have but definitely needs the old button for "temporarily enable all for this site", which it doesn't seem to have now.
