I have ice plant in an old stump (left about 30" high.) I tore off a few hunks from another spot, stuck it that soil filled stump, and now in it's 2nd year, has covered the stump & trails all the way to the ground. Already beginning to bloom those bright beautiful hot pink flowers which shine like patent leather. Originally I bought a 4" pot of it at Lowe's and have given away at least a dozen starts larger than I had in the beginning & just last week I took several handfuls from underneath thickest part & stuck them in other spots. I'm going to be needing new appliances soon - I'm redoing a kitchen. my local appliance store has a 30" Jenn Aire wall oven they'll sell me for 300.00. It's in bisque - I'm figuring that is the reason OR the model is a disaster. It is last yr's model too - which certainly doesn't bother me. it's JJW9530DDB - unless the B on the end is for the color. the one at the site address he emailed me is in black and that's the number on it. According to the website and the salesman it's also a convection oven which bothers me even more - this is an expensive oven (to me anyway) and for 300.00??? I don't have much money - but I don't cook much either so I'm not needing a super piece of equipment - just something to make garlic toast in, cookies maybe - and an occasional meatloaf. that's about the extent of my oven use. Oh - and I thought if I'm redoing the kitchen, I should put in new appliances. right now I just use a hot plate and small counter oven. that didn't seem right to do in a newly redone kitchen... I do like that it'd be a wall oven so it could be put up higher than one w/ a range since I have back problems. i had planned to get a range and figured I could get my needs met for around 500-600.00. This unit with a cooktop they have would be about 600.00. does this sound like a big mistake on the oven? the cook top should be fine - it's within price range it's selling for on the net / elsewhere. I called this store today to see how easy it'd be to find a 24" range in bisque. I can manage the 30" just didn't plan to since I don't cook much - seemed a waste of space to me. but I'd give up the 6" of counter space to have the oven up higher! I've started looking online for recalls etc and did find some negative reviews regarding the doors of this oven - seems some people have had them fall off and couldn't get them to stay on even with new hinges. that didn't sound good. It did seem this mostly happened on double ovens tho. This is a single - I certainly have no use for a double oven! anyone have any input on this oven? flwrs, if you really, really love the look, why don't you just use it decoratively? I like the look and idea of having oils and spices, especially in pretty containers, out on display, but I don't. I don't mean to put anyone down for not knowing this, but oils especially, degrade very quickly with light; then add the extra heat from a range and you're heading for a huge waste. I never buy oils (eg EV olive oil) in the tiny clear, (and expensive) jars because there is no way of knowing how long they've been exposed. I cook extensively and buy my EVOO in the 3 liter cans and fill a half liter decorative jar with a pour spout. I store the can in a lower cabinet below my prep sink and the jar in a pull-out next to my range. I use a LOT of olive oil, so keeping the jar out for 10-14 days wouldn't be bad, but keeping it it dark is second nature to me. If you only cook with these oils occasionally and leave them out, you may not notice the slow degradation. 6-8 months later you'll notice an off smell and possibly wonder why you spent so much money on such an inferior product! Along the same thought, have you noticed that whole wheat and other whole grain flours all say to store in a dark, cool place? Same reason: whole flours, unlike refined, contain oil which can go rancid. I don't use whole flours that much and used to be frustrated because I was always throwing out open bags. After I started keeping them in my freezer, I no longer had the problem. So what I' getting at flwrs, buy pretty condiments at HomeGoods or TJMax, or even make your own, decorate away, and keep the stuff you actually use for cooking stashed below or away from the light and glass flames. I also agree that discussing this topic over in the kitchen forum is a good idea.

Since you're clueless, you're in the 99% of people (including myself) who would probably think they sound great. Ask your guy if you don't like them can you exchange them just to be safe.
