So far so good
Comments (3)If it doesn't make it thru the winter, you might want to try thunbergia gregorii, which looks very similar (doesn't have the dark blotch in the throat), but is root hardy in USDA zone 9. It is a bigger plant, but should be restrained in a pot. I have mine planted on a west wall under the eve of my house, and it has survived ten years, and I'm in a colder sunset zone than you. Here is a link that might be useful: thunbergia gregorii...See MoreSo far so good-Oregon Blues
Comments (13)Yeah, remember '94 or whenever it was.....there was actually a day here in Appleton that the high temp was something like 20 below zero! That's Farenheit for you limeys and Europeans. Was talking to a nice young couple from Germany a couple weeks ago when I was down in SW Florida. When asked if we here in WI get "below zero", I knew he meant below the freezing point of water, lol! Straightened out that point of understanding. This indeed could be the year of weeding out some questionable plants, my present observations of these C. lawsoniana not withstanding. Up in that same location I have a few Green Giants which, to date, have been utterly fit for life there. Also, a couple dawn redwoods. I'd not be surprised to see any of these plants succumb. Oh well, was never a high-percentage gamble. Then again, who knows? +oM...See MorePindo,so far so good!
Comments (24)Well.. I should have went in more detail sand is not all i use . 1. I will check to see how fast the ground drains. 2. If it doesn't drain out in about a minute I will dig down about 4 to 5 ft realy depending on what i am going to plant. 3 I will then backfill my hole with sand and the soil from the hole I dug until i can put the rootball even with the top of the ground. 4. I then use miracle grow mixed with sand to completely fill my hole . 5. Then to sturdy everything i use the remainder of the dirt from the hole. I know this way the plant doesn't stay wet all the time....See MoreGreen Works detergent...So far, so good!!
Comments (9)So glad your having good luck with the Green Works Larsi. I didn't get mine yet but had to inform hubs about it because carrying it out of the store in my purse while he waits won't work, the jugs too big and will look weighted in my purse, pulling my arm down lol..it went like this...hon there's a new product on the market, Clorox Green Works and its specially formulated to keep cheap black work jeans from ever fading which means these jeans you insist on buying at walmart will stay black forever..he said..finially a detergent I approve of, next trip to the store can you remember to buy it.....LMAO of course I'll remember. ..haha....See MoreUser
