Comments (32)Pawprint -- the last image you posted (of a "new review" of the vacuum) is NOT a posted review. It is simply the box in which you can write a review. The true test will be when you click on the button to post it. Unless things have changed over the last several years, you can try all you want but the second review won't actually get posted. You'll get an error message telling you that you've already left a review....See MoreSpin off---pawprints thread regarding no disherwasher use
Comments (22)Often the smell in a sink is simply food particles that are stuck. An occasional baking soda/vinegar treatment with hot water chaser as already mentioned will clean out debris and freshen the smell to boot. If you want to save water and thereby save some water heating costs dishpans can help for the small "loads". For decades now when I'm cooking I put a few inches of hot water in the sink with dish soap and as the utensils and prep tools and bowls get dirty (and I'm finished with them, into the sink and let them soak. Particularly effective with sticky stuff, beaten eggs, etc. And really simplifies the dishwashing later. I usually do up the dishes before eating then it's just the meal dishes after, which can be soaked if you want to wait until later to finish them, which I usually do. I've always found it repulsive to finish a nice meal and then have to start washing dishes. I prefer to sit back, enjoy it, enjoy the company when with others and not have to feel rushed to go to work. Others feel differently and that's fine for them. I miss camping. The wash/rinse/sanitize is SOP for many campers. Although I always heated water, hot water is not mandatory for a lot of dishwashing if you follow other safe handling and safe washing procedures. I had a dishwasher in my first apartment. Haven't had one since. Really has not been something that I've missed. I don't particularly like doing dishes but by taking away the hardest part of the work, it's not an issue for me. And when I'm not feeling well, in a hurry, particularly lazy or other situations I break out the paper towels and plastic SFKs. Having good non-stick cookware made a big difference in the dishwashing chore and having other dishware that is conducive to quick/easy cleaning also helps. I nearly bought a dishwasher but after a few changes like the above I don't have the compulsion to get one now. Besides, my kitchen isn't exactly designed well for a dishwasher. Even a portable would be problematic. I almost forgot about the little countertop dishwasher I had for a while. It worked well for a few things, not so well for a lot of things. It went to the landfill....See MoreSleep and pets
Comments (117)I like it. Curled up behind my legs, sharing my pillow, next to me, doesn't bother me. I guess I find it comforting. And I don't mind the snoring either LOL. Cooper is big, but surprisingly light footed on the bed. He comes and goes, prefers to sleep downstairs but visits during the night and comes back in the morning. I swear he takes less room than the smaller pug! I like when the cats cuddle and purr as well. As for health evidence that proves it is detrimental? You could hand me evidence that PROVES this will shorten my life by several years and I would still do it. Show me that it is worse than smoking, drinking, swilling sugary drinks and eating purina people chow and calling it food, spraying bee killing chemicals on cash crops that have no real value, filling our water and air with pollution, and packing our soil with artificial fertilizers so we can suck the life out of Mother Earth herself. I'll take sleeping with dogs and cats on my bed in a heartbeat. And I am allergic :) Dances....See MoreThank you vs like?
Comments (17)I do thank people for posting on my threads, especially if I asked a question. Because I do appreciate that they took the time to add their thoughts, whether I agree with those thoughts or not. I am an adult, both physically and mentally, therefore I can accept that not everyone has to think just like I do to be appreciated. I use the 'like' button when I really like, or agree with, something someone has posted, (usually on posts started by others), but have nothing to add myself. Those buttons are the one thing Houzz has changed about these forums, that I really do like! Rusty...See More- 8 years ago
