Tree-like vs. Bush-like growth
Comments (5)Derek, here is what I do with most all side branches that grow on GRAFTED TREES. I leave the side branches, or any branch that I don't necessarly want to keep, develop and grow on the main trunk untill they get a "firm" feel to them and a couple of leaves have fully opened or developed. Then I remove the branch and root them. This way I get a new "mature" tree for FREE that will bloom and fruit in 1-2 years. I have obtained many free trees by the above method. When I know what variety the rootstock is I also let new branch growth grow on the rootstock and do the same as above. By doing this I have obtained a lot of rootstock. - Millet...See Moredcs vs1236 hood. do you like it?
Comments (2)eelover...we are about to take delivery on a DCS AG range and I thought we should have the 'matching' hood. two different sales people steered us away from that. For cleaning, efficiency and quiet functioning we were told to go with the Ventahood --- for us a 600 cfm which is supposedly 900 in Ventahood will do the trick. One store said Kobe was a good alternative, the other said Best were good 'second choices' Good luck with the decision....See MoreI like my Frigidaire induction range! Thank you
Comments (3)Happy for you -- these things sound amazing. I used to lament the fact that we didn't have natural gas lines in the neighborhood, now I lament the dang durability of this bosch electric range - I'm sure it's going to be years before I'll have the opportunity to bring home my own induction range. :-(...See MoreEuro vs. framed? Comments (3)I have inset uppers and European frameless bottoms. I wanted the inset uppers as they are a very traditional look, and my house is a nearly 70 year old house, very traditionally furnished. It's NOT an open concept kitchen, but I felt it was in keeping with the house. The only downside to inset cabinets is if you don't always have your HVAC system going, and you have high humidity in the summer - they may stick. I live in a very high humidity area and my AC is ALWAYS on in the summer to keep the humidity out of then house, so I have had no problems. I chose the frameless bottoms as I wanted a smooth, sleek look and I wanted every inch of real estate storage I could get. I'm very happy with my choices....See More- 9 years ago
