Master Bedroom Window Advice

Stephen Lynch

My fiance and I are building a house with a custom builder and we have just broken ground within the last week or so. We've basically finalized everything regarding our floor plans except for one window in the Master Bedroom. We're currently deciding between the following options, but are willing to consider other options as well:

1. *Already in plans* upper windows above bed plus full size windows (see attached images). The problem with this is that the gap between the two full size windows is 4 feet whereas a king size bed is about 6.5 feet wide. This means our bed will be covering some of the full size windows -- about half of each one).

2. Only do the upper windows above bed (basically 4 - 2'x2' windows)

3. Do a full size triple window, knowing well and good that our bed will cover the bottom half and completely own the problem.

Our master is above the garage and light could potentially be a concern as the main windows will be via colonial-styled dormers. We'd like to have some kind of light coming in from that part of the room. You'll see that the roof line prevents window placement along that wall.

Any advice is welcome!
