Houzz user data breeched...
Comments (8)No letter either. I got my notice from HaveIBeenPwned.com which told me I was pwned. " In mid-2018, the housing design website Houzz suffered a data breach. The company learned of the incident later that year then disclosed it to impacted members in February 2019. Almost 49 million unique email addresses were in the breach alongside names, IP addresses, geographic locations and either salted hashes of passwords or links to social media profiles used to authenticate to the service. The data was provided to HIBP by dehashed.com....See MoreCredit Card Fraud, Again
Comments (23)So, here I am today when I get an e-mail from VISA saying my recent Spotify charge of $9.99 was declined because it was posted against my old card number and I should update Spotify to my new #. I've never had a Spotify account, knew it was someone attempting to use my hacked data from my previous card and assumed the charge would not go through. Wrong! I called VISA and was told that through a "courtesy agreement" VISA has with certain companies, VISA had updated Spotify with my current card number. (They do this for recurring charges.) I asked why this would happen since I'd never had a Spotify account? I asked if I could prevent VISA from using this "courtesy agreement" on my accounts? VISA will not block "courtesy" updates until a recurring charge has occurred twice. In the interim, my card is being cancelled and I'm being issued a new card#. But, I have to wait until May 23rd to see if Spotify attempts to process another monthly charge to my just cancelled card and they update it with my newest card number. If so, I'll have to file another fraud report and then they will cancel future automatic updates. I will also have to cancel this newest replacement card that I've yet to get. Confused? It is hard to follow but I'm mostly mad! This will be my third VISA # since late October 2019....See MoreGeneral help with first perennial garden beds
Comments (49)Babs, I hear your points about annuals and might consider some for next year. The idea of having dedicated spaces in a garden for them is t something that had occurred to me, but is actually a really nice idea as a way to add life in the spring. I didn’t know flagging was an option and will bear that in mind in the future, thank you. I agree with you about the sense of community here. I will not venture into the hot topics forum! I don’t actively use social media and am always surprised when people take things to a personal level in that context. Thank you for the compliment! I will post some photos of how things are growing below. I get so much enjoyment from puttering around the garden every morning and evening. I’m so glad to have a place to share the happiness it brings me with others who feel the same way. Vesfl, I’m so happy to hear you’ve had good luck with munstead lavender. I read about a study which included a handful of varieties and was designed to find out which was the hardiest lavender for colder climates. The results found that munstead and phenomenal were most successful. This is why I chose these two varieties. I’m sure microclimates make a large difference here, but I am keeping my fingers crossed for my own. I’ll have to buy a meter and check for alkalinity. I wonder if it would be wise to transfer the smaller of the plants to pots for the winter while they’re still on the small side...? I have a dear friend who’s son plants zinnias for her every year and I always think of them when I see them. I think I will find a home for some next spring....See MoreDo you think its mean to make the builder switch out for new cabinets?
Comments (34)When I address comments like this, I do so from a legal/dispute resolution standpoint. Again, ask your builder for the moon if you really want to. However, I believe there are several factors that will likely impede your forcing him to do anything. (1) There are a lot of holes and screws inside cabinets, you are going to have to demonstrate that these are damaging while others are not. Which is going to be a struggle. Please note, this would be completely different if the holes were on the front as they will be when your new handles are installed. (2) Filled holes and touch up paint are industry standards and you are only entitled to acceptable industry standard cabinets. You are going to have a tough time overcoming that. (3) What does your contract say about him breaching? If he has a standard breach clause in the contract, likely the only thing you can demand is the return of your deposit and termination of the contract. ---- I do understand your frustration and I sympathize. However, I will caution against charging head-first into this because of internet opinions from strangers without any skin in the game....See MorePKponder TX Z7B
