I changed the entrance of my shower tub. The panel board was moldy; water was getting in between the top tiles and the panel board. the joint was not well sealed. I put new everything for the entrance, even a membrane between the plywood and the tiles. However, it seems to leak from the wall now. Water is coming out of the wall outside the shower tub. Would it be the grout, tiles...? Tiles and grout are probably 20+ yrs old ( turquoise tiles). I tried to put some ready grout ( in a tube), but it still leaks! Calking is well done. Should I remove the old grout and put new one everywhere? Thanks for your help!

The caulking is drying more and more gold and I am sure he did not use the same Almond he used when he was here last and just wanted me to return the battery charger he left here so he did as little as he could to cover the cement area between the carpet and tiles in the front foyer despite giving him a metal transition piece I bought that he did not want to use. I wanted the caulking to match the mushroom grout. The goldish colored caulking is still soft and not dry so I wonder how long it will dry with my floors so cold despite keeping the room at 71 degrees? I have to block that area so will take pictures when it is dry. The middle foyer's metal piece was glued on and a piece of wood was not placed on the 2" cement area in between the tile and carpet so he could nail down the transitional metal piece I bought for him. I hope it does not look too bad when it dries. I hope I can live with this until I have time and money after my busy season to replace this carpet. To me not finishing a job is liking making a beautiful dress and not cleaning lint and dirt off of it and not hemming it so the edges are frayed.

I love having the weathered wood look tile floor in the kitchen. It is practical for me. The rest of the house (minus the bathrooms and basement) is wide plank pine, and impractical to run into a kitchen. I have this tile running perpendicular to the real wood (not weathered) in the house., which makes it look purposeful. It is a really good quality tile which did not cost all that much. Looking back a couple years ago, I understand (when I was researching for someone who wanted to us this himself in his own home) that the tile I selected was discontinued. (I do have additional slabs in case anything needs replacement - always order a bit more than you need so the tilers can cut as indicated...) It also helps me demark space in my home, as I am not really an "open space" aficionado - but am content with "semi-open". I bought my tile from a high quality supplier (South Cypress), and I did not pay an arm and a leg for the tile I chose. Edit: This is a log home, and the wide plank pine fits into the home ambiance wonderfully. I just didn't want a soft wood floor in the kitchen... but I wanted something hardy but wood-like. Being "weathered" meant I wasn't trying to "fool" anyone, but going with the nature of my home. Absolutely love it, and love the supplier I bought from. It also has some brownish sections, which keeps me out of that monochrome area of décor I personally dislike.

For our new house, we found LVT for the bathroom and laundry floors that look like tile! We love the look and feel over our usual ceramic tiles chosen in the past. Find a good Coretec showroom (or other nice LVT), take some big samples home and pick the one that blends/complements your hardwoods. It can be done! The only caveat might be the transition piece from hardwood to tile of a different height; get advice on the best way to handle that.
