Echinopsis!
Comments (3)Thanks for the nice comments Laura and GermanStar! I do love Echinopsis for sure. GS, I have to keep mine only in the back garden too, as I get all sorts of javelinas, hares, rabbits, and other herbivores that love eating them too, so I need to keep them in the protected confines of the back garden. Out front it's mostly natives, some agaves, and lots of bitter/soapy aloes and Euphorbias. I do love Echinopsis, and this is a great time of year for them. Happy gardening!...See MoreThree blooming today
Comments (18)Your gardens are really showing off. Fernstone looks so good, my 2 fans each have a nice scape, at least a week away from blooming though. Dumortieri bloomed yesterday, but with the wind & rain didn't look decent to show. Love your iris! And your roses, I miss the few roses I grew. Gave up on them when the Japanese beetles devoured them. Abe Barrow is a lovely flower, but that last photo is just wonderful....See MoreDancers and Eyes for today
Comments (15)Dancing Flamingo is a stunner! I love, love that color. Nordic Soul is also a great looking flower. Some of those really dark ones get splotchy for me, that one looks really nice and clear. Billy the Kid looks really good! Mine only has 3 blooming size fans, but with 3 more smaller fans maybe I'll get more blooms later. At least I should get a nice showing next year. I like the color of Red Heartthrob too, and a wonderful patter on Bowtie Affair. Yes, I just like them all....See MoreThree good blooms today!
Comments (17)Nan, you are correct. I purchased Cheese and Wine at my local favorite nursery in 2015. "Longfields" was not on any of the information I had when I purchased it. Heemskerk is a hybridizer in the Netherlands. This season I purchased another Heemskerk daylily called Magic Dancer at the same nursery. It's just as lovely in a different way.Sherry...See MoreMaryl (Okla. Zone 7a)
