A seedling and some UFOs (photos)
Comments (19)Dot - I do drag the water hose around alot. But my soil is amended clay. The hosing I do to those planted in the ground only seems to wet the top inch to two inches of soil. Also, last year I was out of state during several weeks of summer because my mother was ill, so they would go a week at a time with no moisture. And I really get bad about watering in August and September when I go back to work (teaching school). Things are really busy then, and I'm just too tired to water much except on the weekends. Unfortunately that's when it's hotter than blazes and we get no rain. I HAVE to water the hundred or so I have in pots to keeep them alive, so the 400 in the ground and the seedlings don't get watered as often as they should. The year before last, the drought was so bad we had a ban on watering for several months. The sibs to this seedling probably died due to lack of water, but the 150 I lost last winter died because of too much water (rain) and the repeated freeze/thaw cycle we had here. Comments (10)Kay, you are partially responsible for my iris crazies as you started posting those stunning pictures of your iris beds last year. But I can easily see why people are bonkers for them. The colors are just stunning and the flowers so beautiful. Unfortunately I will never be able to catch up to you with the iris. I don't have the room. And I ordered this year but then you did too so I can't catch up LOL! But I do have the Siberians also and I am sure I have way more daylilies than you have....See MoreThree Last Blooms Today

Comments (8)Sherry - I think is this is the prettiest edge Pink Aloha as ever had. Its color has been richer in cooler summers, but the edge never better. I was so pleased about the increase in fans on the pink seedling. A couple of other seedlings that haven't multiplied in years are adding fans now, so I'm a happy hybridizer right now. Nancy - The patterns on Venetian Pools have been much stronger and detailed in this second year. Debra...See Moreorganic_kitten
