1970s Pool Renovation (Aztec Pool)- Need advice and pool contractor

Hi all,

I have a 1970s pool with a concrete bottom and fiberglass sides. I believe it is called an Aztec pool here in NJ. I had new bluestone coping installed but the pool itself still looks really dated and tired. Under the coping there is rough cement and the old clips that rust. I inherited this pool, and while we enjoy it (all new equipment so it works fine), I have no interest in putting in a new one.

I want to dress it up and try to install some decorative tile or something around under the coping to make it look better. Or I would have interest in dropping a smaller pool with hot tub inside this one (this is a huge 20x40 pool and I don't need it this big). But none of the pool contractors I have spoken to have interest in renovating this pool. They all want me to rip it out so they can sell me a $100+K pool. Any ideas? If I didn't have a pool cabana that would look lonely by itself, I would just fill this pool in. Thanks!
