Pro/Pro-Style Ranges Flush with Cabinets
Comments (14)The cabinets are Ikea with walnut doors from semi-handmade. I just looked up the Ancona range on costco.com and it won't work for me, it's dual fuel, i need all gas, & it's 36", I need 30". It looks like the ILVE range may work for me also. Is there anywhere that I can find the depth of ranges from the back to the face of the door? AJ Madison is inconsistent with what their depth is measuring (on some ranges it's to the door, some to the handle, some to the front overhang)....See MoreAnyone worked for ProSource?
Comments (0)I've got a colleague interviewing with them and haven't heard of them before. Did some looking online and it looks as though they carry a lot of name brands. Looks like some people hated working for them though, but those are mostly older reviews. No real newer reviews....See MoreEstimate comparison and pro help: Geo vs. air-source heat pump
Comments (6)The $3346 difference between option 2 & 3 is primarily for the desuperheater - thatÂs a lot of money! System #1 SEER equivalent is 24 compared to TraneÂs 15.75. System #2 equivalent SEER is 26.5 vs. TraneÂs 15.75. They have to offer you at least a 1-year warranty (5-years on the compressor). So, what I would do is negotiate a better price for the system (#3) with the desuperheater and a fixed period of say, 3~4 months (say till spring) to decide on an extended warranty. If the system is trouble free all winter, chances are you donÂt need the extended warranty. Bottom line is if you can install a geothermal system for less than $20k  itÂs a no brainer! Last piece of advice; insist on the Waterfurnace with the highest COP (5). BTW: R-22 is at least 5% more efficient in heating mode & closer to 10% more efficient in cooling mode than R-410a from what IÂve seen, but donÂt let that sway you. Go for 2-speed compressor & ECM variable speed blower. IMO SR...See MoreHoliday Cabinets vs. Kemper Choice
Comments (7)Diamond IS Kemper IS Thomasville. They are the same exact cabinets. Only the names change depending on which store you are in. If you found Kemper to be more expensive, then look at another company carrying it. It should always be cheaper than the box store equivalents as dealers don't have the higher markups of box stores. Yes, I said higher markups for box stores. They often don't use anyone who knows anything about kitchen design in that position, and the result is more mistakes that they have to deal with. So, they negotiate a better return policy with the company, but the customer pays for it with higher margins. If you have a ProSource anywhere near you, check them out as they are a wholesale to the trade. (They have a "house" account if you aren't a member.) Their margins are MUCH lower than the box stores and they will have the Kemper/Diamond labeled versions of what you are looking at. That's the company that I'm now working for and designing the new showroom, and it's been pretty great as to how little the markups actually are compared to some that I had dealt with in the past. Not all ProSources have added cabinets, but if you are in a major city, it's worth your time for flooring as well if you need that for your project....See Morecpartist
