Cold and rainy here. So glad I got the seedlings (cold lovers) in the ground before the rain hit. I took down the umbrella so it wouldn't blow over last night. I told my brother not to come as I won't be working on the Miata for awhile. I've even suspended insurance on it. There's just too much going on to fiddle with it. It's a want not a need.

Today, I'll learn how much I can push the Nashville bus system times. Before, my son and I thought there were two buses and two buses only to get us home. That is, if we missed them, there was no way home. And ultimately, we have to make it to the train station via the train or a different bus to meet one of those two buses in order to make it to our house in our suburbs, but only if we didn't start out on the suburb bus. Now I know there are several different ways, and have three times (or more, if I leave earlier) to leave the bus depot.

I'll experiment with leaving later today. I left a half hour earlier than needed yesterday, knowing Nashville traffic, to see how much time cushion I had. I had an extra half hour at the depot. If I leave at the later time (20 minutes), will traffic be so much more that I almost miss or do miss the bus that'll get me home? If I do miss it, I have two more chances. We'll see. Kinda nervous about that. If all else fails, I can sit somewhere and let my son come get me in the car after marching band practice. I am happy for the learning experience, and even more glad that I don't have to depend on the bus, just have it as a backup.

Is it time for chocolate yet?

First thing this morning I took the ceiling fan off and then I washed the walls, and the ceiling in my room with TSP. After lunch I went out, and dug up some more dreaded Bermuda grass. Now, TV and some knitting.

I did my usual Tuesday morning volunteering (I read to seniors with dementia). Then I picked up stuff in the yard. I could work for only 30 minutes before my perspiration (Oops, I am a guy - I sweat) got to be so bad that my glasses would not stay on my face. I did that four times and got about 90% of the stuff out of the grass. It can be mowed now without destroying the blade.

And...I napped.

DH took off from work to help me haul weeds and dirt off the front yard of a rental property. Going to relandscape/xeriscape it. It's not completed, but was more enjoyable with him there. :0)

Finally made myself order new swivel breakfast bar stools to replace old ones that did't swivel! $64 ea. w/ coupon. My motivation was we had friends over and they kept turning the stools, moving the stools and I realized if they just swivelled it wouldn't look like my guests were fighting with the furniture. lol

I did a load of laundry and hung it outside to dry ( so much easier now that my washer is not in the basement). I also cleaned and reorganized a small closet that is in my living room under the stairs. I purged a few things and took my donations to the thrift store.

Getting down to the wire on packing, Friday is moving day. Old poodle is going in for dental cleaning/surgery in the morning.

I'm moving to the Woodlands in Conroe, away from the coast, I hope to never again be flooded by a hurricane.
