Anyone have feedback on Floor & Decor?
Comments (3)I think the quality of their products varies considerably since they get their inventory from the larger tile companies - usually discontinuing products, etc. That can be good and bad. You can buy a few pieces (my contractor says at least 2 and 3 is better) and your tile guy can check if the tile you like is flat. Flat is good is my understanding. I have also found that what they have on their shelves in their stores can vary a lot from what they have available online for purchase. But still want to buy samples first and take a look though what you finally get may be a different lot. (you probably know that already)...See MoreFeedback on Paint and Decor?
Comments (22)Part of what I donâÂÂt like now that you have painted out the middle boards, is that the two side wood pieces, following the ceiling slant, just stand out and look odd to me. I would have your DH, since he sounds like a handy guy, remove those side wood pieces while he is removing the slanted boards, and put them down the outside of the brick, like legs for the mantel. That will echo the feel of all the dark vertical woodwork you have in the room on the walls. Then sheetrock the entire space above the mantel so you have smooth wall all the way bove the mantel. I think it will cure the crooked legs feeling you have now, and give you plenty of open wall space, letting the vault of your room really soar. One other thing, if you donâÂÂt mind. Either move over the console table under the clock, or move the clock - the pieces feel like they should have some relation to one another, and donâÂÂt. I would also lower the clock a bit. Add a lamp on that table, too. I donâÂÂt see a lot of ambient lighting in the room, just overhead, and so you lose the cozy feeling you should have in the seating space. Think of the nice warm lighting you will have with a lamp added there (and a floor lamp or end table and lamp in the corner by the fireplace, too), instead of the glare of the chandelier and overhead in the entry or LR....See MoreAny feedback on Home Decorators vanities?
Comments (8)I have a tiny bathroom and bought a small tall vanity from home Decorators catalogue years ago. It came in light or dark wood with metal legs and it has 3 drawers and a cabinet - with a granite top and a glass pedestal bowl sink. It has been great in our small space - and held up far better than the two prior vanities that came before it, both of which did not hold up well at all. I cannot recommend drawers in the bathroom enough! So, so much better storage than we had before......See MoreNeed help decorating "unused" entry way!
Comments (7)What you have isn't bad. I like that your mirror echoes your arched window. The table seems a good width for the space. Maybe hang the mirror on the wall, add a taller buffet style lamp making it a bit more cozy and less objects. You could paint the table and also the back of your door to add color to go along with the rest of your home. When choosing a rug, I would tend to go a bit larger than too small. Make sure it's a low enough pile so that you're still able to open your front door....See MoreMy3dogs ME zone 5A
