I'd also urge you to reconsider the more efficient furnace. Drilling through the foundation shouldn't be any cause for concern. It's usually possible to bore straight through and very cleanly. With the the right termination, only a single hole is required. Here's an image of the termination used when i converted from oil to gas. The plastic fixture is about about 6" or 7" in diameter, and sticks out from the wall about 8" or 9". It's barely noticeable, especially now, since I've subsequently painted it a dark color. (I'm in Seattle where we don't get much snow, which is why it can be so close to grade) I installed a Bryant 90%+ furnace. My heating costs dropped dramatically after the switch, and the variable speed blower is so quiet, I'm seldom aware that it's even running. Do yourself a favor and go with the most efficient furnace you can find. The cost of heating fuel is only going to continue upward.

I have caterpillar's that look similar, in that they have no obvious legs. But some are brown (slightly striped) and some bright green. They are eating leaves voraciously in my greenhouse and the basil in particular is struggling to grow faster than it is being eaten. I remove a kill as many as I can find but especially the green ones are hard to spot. It's now only August and some of the links above suggested that these larvae are only laid in late summer, and I've had the problem since July, and maybe earlier (but i first guessed slugs as i have lots of those too but pellets have more or less one that battle for the moment) HB

Thanks all again! Fortunately... in the heart of Long Island suburbia and a hop away from NYC where I work, I was able to touch and feel literally every appliance possible. Just no gas/water. I double checked the Eletrolux double ovens (old vs new).... To be honest, I couldn't really tell much of a difference in regards to better made or not. Did look different, but nothing I could point to specifically. The rails did seem to be less smooth on the newer ones, but maybe it was due to the install. In some ways, I thought the Kitchen Aid and Bosch seemed more sturdy on the inside. Maybe it's just me. Wife thought the Electrolux was hands down the best (looking). It was still cheaper to buy the Electrolux with a 5yr extended warranty... so I am hedging my bet on this one. I switched to the Bosch 500 DLX dishwasher. Just felt that it was a better product. Haggled the price down a little more to justify the switch. Switched to the Faber Tender chimney hood for a little more. Wife thought it looked better. As for Berta... I checked the Bluestar, Capital, Viking, Miele, Dacor, Thermador, FiveStar, American, DCS ( just to see what I was missing on the high end)... The ones I just mentioned are basically in their own price point (and to some extend better). Berta being 25%-50% less expensive... is in the price point of a Kenmore Pro range top and cheaper than a Kitchen Aid. So the Berta was technically an upgrade for me. Those smaller Bertas are popular NYC apartments fixtures that can't afford pumping out a Viking. I've pretty much made my purchase today. (Sink will have to be purchased elsewhere.) I was told I have the option of switching some of my appliances before delivery. I was able to get pricing barely down below AJMadison... and secured cheaper white glove shipping. All for the sake of keeping below the $10k budget. Thanks all for your help! Will definitely provide an update on the status of the appliances. If you pinch the tips they will branch and be bushy but as the canes get older the thorns get worse. They can get thick so picking berries can be like a dangerous easter egg hunt.... sometimes you get too eager going for the fruit and get a sharp stab. I currently have them in those blue water barrels cut in half. The ones cut length-ways are in wood frames to keep from tipping over and sit on cement patio fruiting for 2yrs+. Another barrel I cut width-ways so about 17in deep 24 wide also survive winter snow on cement patio. Just make sure something blocks the wind. I know it can get brutal especially further out Long Island, that can cause tip burn or if you're closer to shore you may have a bit of salt in it so you can cover canes with tarp but you need rain and snow to get to soil during winter so mulch or frost blanket over ground at bottom.
