phillips tv closed caption won't stay on
Comments (2)Need help putting caption on TV, we have no remote. Is there a menu button on the TV? Are you sure the TV has CC? Is this TV so old that it is not remote controlled? If so, per the link below, "For older televisions, a set-top box or other decoder is usually required.>" How are the channels changed, or are they? Via a remote for Cable or Satellite? The serial # means nothing. Do you have the model #? Sue Here is a link that might be useful: Closed captioning...See MoreTV Niche, Large Mantle
Comments (14)I asked to see a picture of the whole room so we can see the fireplace wall in context with the rest of your decor and how the wall relates to the rest of the room. Comments (27)groveraxle, I was more concerned personally about actual size of the sideboard in terms of how large it is on its own, and then we are moving it up into an alcove... We can always move the TV screen up as it's on an arm. Here is a pic of the 4 panel sideboard. This one is much wider than the 3 panel we photoshopped in, however the height is the same - 29 1/2"....See MoreRemodeling Large TV Niches - Has anyone tackled this problem yet?
Comments (12)I like the idea of making it MCM inspired, but don't go too midcentury, as it may clash with the rest of your house--unless you are considering doing a bunch of remodeling. based on your pics, I think a style like this could look good, but with a lower bench and no shelf above it: or something wide and low slung. this one might be too dark, but note the shape, and how the TV is not too high up: or.... when I look at your first photo, it kind of looks like you might be able to lay out the room so the TV is on the big wall to the right? would that work? fi so: I think your existing FP is kind of midcentury inspired with the flagstone surround. what if you kept it, turned the nook to the right into a bookcase and/or wood storage?...See Morepbeq111
