Tulips in bulb "lasagna" - how to replace?

I've got a couple of beds that I am hoping to plant with the bulb lasagna technique this fall, but I have a question about how it all works. I'm reading online that you want to plant things like lilies first, then layer daffodils and alliums, then tulips and hyacinth, and finally crocus and other small bulbs corms. However, while crocuses are perennial, tulips are not - so what happens the next year when you want to replant tulips? Do you have to dig up the crocus layer and replant those as well? Does that hinder their growth or naturalizing? Thanks!
