Valance and shower curtain fabrics for bathroom
Comments (26)shee, it's difficult to say what color the fabric is looking at it from the monitor, but I would say more gold than yellow. For my shower curtain, since it is just one piece, I'm going to get the seamstress to put the holes so I can hang it from plain hooks and I'll have the liner on the same hooks and when the curtain is in use the decorative part will set outside the tub. The rod pocket is for just the valance which will be on a seperate poll. Also, my seamstreass was suppose to do this but she didn't. There is a waterproof fabric that you can use as the liner for your curtain which will offer it more protection from water and if I remember correctly it's also mildew proof. You asked about the height to hang. My curtain is a basic size so it will hang like your current one is now, just above the top of the tub surround....See MoreSource for curtain for small bathroom window
Comments (2)How about this: $12.88 at WalMart. It is 53 inches wide by 63 inches long. Have it hemmed by a seamstress - at the local cleaner's, from craigslist, or ask at your local fabric store. You could even venture into the ribbon dept at the fabric store, buy something that you like and have the seamstress sew it on. If not that one, WalMart has lots of other panels that could be adapted for your use. Here is a link that might be useful: Sheer panel...See MoreJust a plain white bathroom curtain, so hard to find
Comments (14)"Why can't I find something like that in the stores?" They really are not popular. Double hung windows are not being built into new homes in the bathrooms. Not all homes years ago had them either. If the window is in the shower/tub area one would want a plastic shower curtain cut down to size. Otherwise the Roman shades or window blinds seem to be what people put on bathroom windows. One option is to get "kitchen curtains" but they are usually the cafe style. Or get a long panel and just hem it to the length you want....See MoreTreatment for arched bathroom window over front door
Comments (7)A top down / bottom up shade might work actually....I have to look at it today with that in mind. All of the other windows have cellular blinds which are older and worn out and some are non-functioning or poorly functioning and one window definitely doesn't have a blind at all. I don't really like the idea of frosted film simply because we actually like to look out that window to check weather or look for daddy doing yard work or the neighborhood cat, etc. I feel like it would be a major loss if the window was obscured all the time. I agree that maybe painting the shutters white would look better. There is a lot of natural mid to dark wood throughout the house so its safe to say the previous owner really liked that look. We tend to go for lighter, brighter neutral with pops of color. I honestly had no idea about an ornamental leaded design......but I could see that possibly working after I searched some ideas. And yes, that is the stupidest place to put a bathroom. I have no idea what they were thinking. I think it would make a nice little office though, looking out on the front yard. I'd put built in shelves on the back wall so that's all you'd see when you looked in the window from the street....See Morelain11644
