I have a plant in my greenhouse that I started from seed about 3 years ago. The label says Jasmine stephanotis florebunda. It really didn't grow much until this summer and I got tired of looking at it in the greenhouse and put the pot outside. My puppy dragged it around in the yard so finally brought it back into the greenhouse. Today I was cleaning the greenhouse up (its been a dump and run) since early summer. It has really grown and I noticed the leaves looked just like my hoya so came in the house to look it up in the computer and saw that the plants are related. Now instead of a regular pot I am going to have to change to a hanging pot. My hoya bloomed for the first time this summer although I didn't notice much smell from the flowers. Ellie

Hi Meyer Mike:) Not sure of the age , but I bought it last year in flower. When it was finished, I put it under lights in the basement [kindof neglected the watering lol] This spring and summer, it went outside in our back yard, in dappled sun. I just started noticing the tiny flower buds about a month or so back. Since I brought it in, it has had natural sunlight,and is in our coolish room. No fragrance as yet,but the little flowers are not open, can't wait to smell them :)

Hooray! This thread isn't dead yet! Fenius, Beautiful pics as usual! Love the gardenias and orchids or should I say 'opera divas'. ;) I know what you mean about plants not cooperating when it comes to scent. Apparently my Tillandsia cyanea only has a scent when it's outside. Go figure! I sniffed some in the greenhouse at the nursery where I bought mine today and no scent. Mine had no scent either this morning until I brought it outside to get some late afternoon sun (it's currently 61 outside) and lo and behold the sucker has a delicious clove scent again! Fragrant, Sorry to hear about the bud blast on your 'Scentuous' Camelia. I do hope you get some blooms this year and share your pics with us! :) -Robert

Hey Tom, I know I have a pretty rare one I got from a friend in which his visited I think was Columbia from the forest, then I have a few other pretty cool ones. I will take pics and you can see the leaves. I would love that! I am rooting some now...Who knows, maybe one of my mother plants will die and you could carry on with it and have back up just as I would for you.
