Don't buy Anderson, Stay away from Pella, forget Marvin!
Comments (16)I am a commercial contractor in Florida. My last home had Pella Architect series throughout. 10 years and 8 months in the home, and we discovered the bottom rails in approximately 75% of the windows had rotted. Our house had casement and French doors throughout. We had two French Doors that the bottom of each had rotted. The only way we found out that our windows and doors had failed was the magnets for our alarm system fell out. The alarm monitor said “zone faulted” When I called the Pella representative in Orlando, I was told that had we called a year earlier, they would have warranted the windows. The frustrating thing was since we live in Florida, it's typically to hot to open the windows so we would never have known if not for our security system. After some investigation into the windows, it became known that Pella knew this issue was a problem for quite a few years. According to one of their installers, they had been testing windows for 6-8 years in south Florida because of the numerous failures. Soon I will be purchasing approximately $150,000.00 worth of windows. I am leaning toward PGT casement windows. I think vinyl and aluminum both have their advantages....See MoreStay away from Lexington upholstery!
Comments (27)Want a terrible truth? Unless you are buying something made in North Carolina? Rest assured it is most likely junk. Can you get lucky? Sometimes. ...................But the onus here, is on Sticklley. They never INSPECTED before they loaded that on a truck? To deliver to you? I'd make Stickley take the mirror back too. Stickley aws the agent, and should have refused the Lexington well before delivery to you. As to the real issue? The blame is shared by everyone , folks. That is what is sad. You want cheap, fast , and no hard feelings if you toss it in five years or less? That's what sent production to China, Vietnam, . Want a dresser? Go to the consignment shop.........paint the "brown thing". Consignment stores are loaded with "brown" furniture. Second truth is value/quality has nothing to do with a price tag. In this case ? None of either. At the rate we're going, the landfills will be FULL. and only those in the stratosphere will be able to have anything of quality. Nor will most of them care. ........read the beginning again lol...See MoreJackson & Perkins is horrible, horrible, stay away!
Comments (25)Very sorry this happened to you , braverichard. I read over J&P warranty, I did not see anything being required to buy in within their stated hardiness zone for the guarantee to remain in tact. If that's their policy, they should state it, and be prepared lose most of their tree rose sales to those not in zone 7-10. I also notice that good customer service companies have some form of escalation for valid reasons that fall outside of their warranty...I recently received refunds from both Amazon and Uber for situations that fell outside their warranty, because they made sense. Wayside, J&P and esp Park seed brought me much happiness when I was a kid. It's sad to see them in decline, their offerings are not that competitive in today's world, their reviews are bad, I would guess they're not exactly profitable, either....See MoreStay away from Bosch Ovens
Comments (3)Yeah but it'll come back. Once it's out of warranty then they won't even send a technician. Had a problem at 2 years, then another at 3. It you have a faulty unit it's just a waiting game until it's not their problem....See Morelindaohnowga
