Beautiful home. What color is the mortar between the stone? I think I would paint the gable the same color as the stone.

Hi Lydia, I’m curious what you ended up with? I have the same roof color and similar home and have been considering a very light blue/gray but wasn’t sure about it. I also wasn’t sure if I would need white trim or a dark contrast trim to pull off a light color. Appreciate your input and experience!

I'm going in a lighter direction, just to imagine driving up to a butter yellow cottage-y lake house for a long weekend. This house has reddish roof like yours but blue shutters (if you're keeping) and blue front door. Do be careful with yellow choice, though, so it's not overbright--creamy butter yellow. Repaint your rocking chair blue or dark red, add red stone/brick pavers leading to steps. Not that you want to spend time working on landscaping, but your lovely house would be even more charming with a white picket fence on the right side with climbing roses, if you have right light and soil conditions and a mix of different sized evergreens on the left side than the bushes that are there. There's also sage and red (so you can echo red chimney, red shutters, and steps) Paint welcoming rocker red as well. Note the nice mix of plantings in front. You do want set-and-forget native plantings suitable for soil and light conditions so you can spend more time at the lake and not on the yard.
