Comments (14)You might want to take a trip to Banjong Orchids. 17720 SW 218 ST in Homestead. I got these from them at the Fairchild Orchid Festival back in May(?). I think they were $10 a set, the one on the left had 1 smaller one, and the one on the right had 3 smaller ones. They were imported from somewhere in Asia. I don't have their #, but you may have a hard time talking to them unless you speak Thai, but you may get lucky and get someone who speaks english well enough. But they may be "what are you talking about" because I think they specialize in just orchids, and not orchid supplies. They may have just ordered the pots for the festival. I don't know about the quality. As you can see, some parts are lighter then other parts, and they feel a little rough, but I dont know anything about clay pots. I haven't touched these since I bought them....See MoreDo you wash the inside of your tea-pot?
Comments (25)I had a wonderful Pyrex glass one that I loved. Had it for years and years. I would put it in my dishwasher about once a week, in between if I used it I would rinse it out. Usually I only used it to boil water if I was making tea in it it went in the dishwasher. I am going to miss so many things! I think of things daily, start to get up to go get it then just stop and realize I'm not in the house and I no longer have that thing. Surreal. I have seen some on ebay. Maybe one day I can get another one....See MoreI want to take a cattleya orchid out of a pot and attach it directly
Comments (5)As far as how and where to mount, I'd go with the "naked faced ape's" ;-) suggestions. As far as removing an orchid from a plastic pot, unless it is totally entwined in/around/through the pot, I'd soak it for about 20-30 minutes and start cutting the pot away doing as little damage as possible, I usually use a sharp set of hand pruners for this type of pot surgery. In my experience the roots come free from plastic pots fairly easily but you sometimes have to cut them from the bottom holes. I think removing the pot and possibly damaging some roots is better in the long run than leaving it in a plastic pot. That is one good thing about a clay pot, a tap with a hammer and things are free or I will pot-up with a clay pot if the roots are really attached. Good luck, Bob...See Moresuzabanana (6b Boston/N.
