Fake flower on my Mammillaria Hahniana? Pink tinting?

Hello everyone! My name is Samantha and I am new to the gardening world that I recently fell in love with. I bought this cool little plant child last night and was excited to see it was a breed if Mammilaria. However looking at photos online I noticed the flower was fake and seemed to be super glued to it. I've snipped it off carefully and will allow the cacti itself to rid of the super glue applied to it.

My question is about the pink tinting on the sides though. I know basic knowledge on how to care for this one.. But is the pink tinting on the sides a sign of possible blooming in the near future? Or is this some type of spray paint to try to sell the plant? Also, what types of soil and sand is best for my plant? Thanks so much guys.
