Need help with getting pictures transferred to PC from phone

I have an LG 6 smart phone. I previously had an LG phone and all I had to do was connect the usb port to my PC and open the phone files up on my PC and they were there to move. When I do this with my new "6" there are no files. Supposedly the first time that I tried this the drivers were supposed to automatically download. How can I find the drivers? TIA

You're right, the two hardware pieces (the phone and the PC) should recognize one another and figure out how to talk. The phone would then appear as an external drive when you open Windows Explorer. Did you try that, do you see another drive under "This PC" after C: and maybe also after a backup sector (D:) ? And then photos are usually in a folder with the name DCIM or a subfolder of DCIM.

A bluetooth connection might be tried instead of a USB cord if your PC has bluetooth but that may be too complicated for you to use.

Have you looked in the User Manual of the phone for help? Are you using the newest PC you own to try for the connection?

Connections and settings in the Android world sometimes differ from one company to another and from one Android version to another. If you don't see the phone listed using Windows Explorer on the PC after trying the above, I'd call your cellular carrier's tech support. I'm sure they can help you. Good luck

Another way that I think is faster (but all the alternatives do work). Connect your phone with a USB cord to the PC. The phone should appear to the PC as an external drive. You're now at exactly the same spot as when you plug in the SD card to the PC, but you've avoided the file copying preliminary work on the phone and also avoided having to remove the SD card from the phone. Copy or move files as you wish using Windows Explorer (just as you do to get them from the SD card). This method also works if your PC doesn't have a card reader (as is the case with a new one I just bought). To me, using Windows Explorer on a PC is a much easier way to move files around than using my finger on the explorer equivalent for an Android phone, especially since the whole folder tree is more easily visible. urraca- I see you live in Spain, so I don't know if it is the same for you as it is for me. I don't have Internet access on my phone. However, after I take a picture, I can immediately send it in a message, or store it and send it later. When I want to send it, I have two options on the menu: send to a cell phone number, or to an email address. Hopefully, it's the same with your phone. Good luck.

have you tried emailing the pics from your phone to your email address? then once in your email on your pc you just right click on the picture and select save as to save them to the hard drive. On that phone the built in ring tones are most likely midi format. That's the only flip phone I don't have here but pretty sure that's what it is. If your new phone has a voice recorder you could just record it onto the new phone. My desktop doesn't have blutooth but I bought a rocket fish bluetooth adapter for $20 that plugs into the USB. Works perfect with my smart phone and hubbys badic phone to transfer files. I have an otterbox case on my phone so a pain to take it off all the time to get at the back cover to take the memory card out so this was an easier solution and cheap.
