Allison, thanks for the link, the color of the window trim, with the polyeurathane finish on is the natural wood. It's pretty light. This is a picture of my front door, unfinished as of yet, but I want it in a deep rosewood color: and this is a pictue of my alder doors, unfinished as of yet,: and this is a picture of the fireplace with one of the windows that has the clear poly finish next to it, I will take a close up picture of it today, but it's the clear in the picture allison showed in the link: This is a picture showing where the trifold doors will go (they are unfinished alder and look like the door pictured above), the windows to the left and right are clear alder with the poly coat on them, notice the beam running across the room, it will be exposed, as well as the beam running the length of the room: Is this a delima or am I just over reacting? My quartzite is a heck of a lot busier than the RB you're using and I'm using it on my island and my perimeter counters. I did the same thing in my condo with the Typhoon Bordeaux which is also very, very busy and it looked spectacular. Just be sure to go to the fabricator to decide where to put the slabs. You can pick "quieter" areas for the perimeter, and busier areas for the island. (Again, that's what I'm doing with my Fascination quartzite slabs) As long as you keep the other elements somewhat calmer, there is no reason you can't use the RB throughout the kitchen. Personally it's what I would do. I wouldn't muddy it up with a secondary material, (granite or quartz). And lastly, while it looks very busy in a full slab looking at it vertically, it automatically "quiets down" a bit when it's horizontal. Stop second guessing yourself, and use the granite throughout the kitchen.

@calidesign, we know but hubby wants a place to prop his feet up or sit and poke at the logs. The other side of the fireplace is the dining room side and we have a very shallow raised hearth just as a reminder that there’s a real fire there, oh...and a little shelf for s’more fixings :). The other two fire places are direct vent gas, no hearths.

You have a link above for Fabuwood paint, You can order a pint of any color shipped to you. Paint it on a piece of poster board. Let dry. Take to slab at stone yard. You are getting the cabinets from a local to you source? They should have sample doors of all of the nine colors Fabuwood offers. You take the tentative selection to your SLAB. If Dove is fantastic with that slab ? Great! If not? Then adjust the cabinet color, or adjust the counter to another selection, but in any scenario.........they have to live well together in your kitchen. Same with the island color. It is in person selection. ...........no other certainty is available to anyone. The River Blue comes from the earth. No two slabs are identical. .....in color, in veining, in any way. There is no reason WALL color has to match cabinets. trim color is a good idea for a match to cabinets, BECAUSE they are generally trimmed at top, right? Similar below ( may have even been River, I have forgotten ) but the wall color doesn't match cabinets.....the TRIM does. I don't remember the cabinet white I used, either ) Lighting wasn't great that day...sorry The wall color in the kitchen? Yes, went most of the downstairs, not the dining room, which was papered. I'd say if doing reno? The money spent on an interior designer can save you quite a bit of stress over kitchen, and all else. Where is the existing kitchen? What is the new kitchen plan, what is the flooring in the kitchen and the rest of the house? Most important? What is the layout now, what if anything is changing and to what in that kitchen? Layout, function, storage, convenience in food prep, finishes of all.......ITS. A WHOLE. Function and beauty. Nothing lives or works in isolation : )
