Couch almost matches my new carpet
We got new carpet under warranty yesterday and only had builder grade to choose from. It looks great in the house, except that it is very similar to my couch and chair/ottoman. Of course, my husband says it doesn't look bad, but wanted any advice on the living area to make it look the best. (everyone here always gives the best decorating advice) I've included pictures. I was thinking a thick curtain rod, above the main three windows with white sheers on either side of the couch. Possible different pillows? And any advice of how to decorate the entertainment center below the tv would be appreciated. I have a pottery barn/beachy style throughout the house.

Comments (17)@aprilneverends, the original cabinet picture is posted in my original post. I do not have the pictures to the "space" but the rest of it is indeed just ivory colored walls with windows, and oak colored baseboards, covered with a neutral carpet -- which will be replaced with a vinyl plank flooring. To answer your other question regarding LVP: I intend to put wood-look vinyl in the living/dining area, and intend to put tile-look vinyl in the kitchen and entry -- which is approximately 6'x8' area that is completely open otherwise to the rest of the Great Room. For me, i might have looked at the next-size-up rug to get the sofa feet onto the rug....but... Have you thought about maybe pulling the sofa forward 6-9" and placing a narrow console table behind it? It would come in handy in a small room. I love the rug!...See More

6 years agoGreat suggestions! An area rug will really define that space. As you have a statement lamp in the teal already, I'd continue in that vein but add more texture/pattern to the throw pillows to add interest.
