My store used to carry both for years. Holiday is a custom line. Homecrest is a builder grade. They aren't in the same category. Holiday has a lot more doors and sizes (ie custom) whereas Homecrest is more standard sizing and not as many woods and finishes to choose from. Both will make a gorgeous kitchen....just depends on your wants, expectations and budget. I have not worked with either for a long time, but the differences I mentioned were the case when I designed with them.

We just did a major kitchen remodel and used Holiday cabinets. They are great. During the install, there was a door that came in scratched, one that was just a different color, and a drawer under the cooktop that wasn't deep enough. All were replaced within a few weeks, no problems from the installer or Holiday. They are all soft close which I wasn't sure I cared about at first, but now really like them. We did get rolling shelves in a lot of the cabinets, pantry cupboards, a mixer lift, dividers for booze bottles, a cabinet for trash/recycle and one for compost that have an automatic open if you gently bump the door or handle.

We did a mix of wood (alder - I forget what stain) on the perimeter cabinets and white on the island.

For us, the skill of the carpenter who did the install made all the difference. We had sloping floors and ceilings in our 1972 ranch. He knew all the tricks to keep everything level on the counters and how to work with trims and shims.

They weren't cheap, but we did a lot of cabinets, probably more than most kitchens. They are great quality and built well. We are thrilled with our new kitchen every day.

We have Homecrest maple cabinets, 8 years old in our small kitchen and bathrooms. No problems and they're really solid.
