My first order of the season has arrived!!
Comments (23)Wow, nice choices everyone! Doesn't it feel like Christmas when you open that box? Mine are all potted, and I did NOT get Mariska, I thought it was in the box because I didn't see "sold out" on my slip. Oh well, I'll have to check elsewhere. I got CC as a bonus too, surprise surprise! Maximus, I know what you mean about eyes, some really appeal to me, others I just can't stand. I guess I am on a sort of pastel kick, I'm always searching for that perfect pink. Last year it was all about purples. Laurel, great! I love the eye of Talking to You, and Winter Chill and Tachibana have the form I just love. Willie Lyles it a great bright pink, ( now added to my list ) I have had FOA on my list for a while. SIX fans? Wow! Mainiac, Last Snowflake looks incredible! and what a bonus you got! jkunkle, You got quite an assortment! Do you like purples and eyes? I think I need to add Way out yonder, Mystical Rainbow and Fairy Free Spirit to my wish list. Lilting Belle is especially lovely too. I have Roses in Snow, Beautiful Edgings and Smokey Mt.Autumn coming soon. Let me know if they send you your request for a bonus. I had suggested a couple , cheap ones, but didn't get them. Just curious. Thanks everyone, enjoy!...See MoreMy order from Plantogram has just arrived today!

He really values his customers and wrote the book on customer service. Bo - Yes, I definietly believe in them and the proof is in the pudding. He really delivers and the product speaks for itself. He will do whatever to make you happy. Ask for some pictures so you will get exactly what you want and expect, and so there won't be any problems. Mickey is very happy to do so. Comments (8)These mail orders are so much fun to see! Both orders are showing beautifully-rooted hostas. I, too, would encourage keeping the wee ones as one whole plant....and in a pot. To improve vigour they should receive morning sun and it would benefit the minis to be slightly raised in their pots..i.e. top 1/4" of roots visible. I've had great success with that method of planting or potting minis when it was recommended to me a couple of years ago. If they are going to be planted later on, I would recommend no later than August 1st...to give them time for the roots to take hold/anchor thereby reducing the probability of frost heave in the spring. My Cracker Crumbs roots were almost halfway out this spring from heave but they are fine. I overwintered my divided Cracker Crumbs in 2013/14. They were in pots but stored in the garage. They survived and were re-planted last fall. The middle pot was forgotten in the garage, pushed into a corner, for a few days last spring when frost warnings were in effect. Poor thing was reaching for light! Even though I've been successful overwintering minis in the garage, I think the best place for them is to be planted in Mother Earth in preparation for winter and once dormant, they should be protected with mulch and marked....See MoreHostas from Green Mountain Hosta Nursery Arrived
