My first order of the season has arrived!!
Comments (23)Wow, nice choices everyone! Doesn't it feel like Christmas when you open that box? Mine are all potted, and I did NOT get Mariska, I thought it was in the box because I didn't see "sold out" on my slip. Oh well, I'll have to check elsewhere. I got CC as a bonus too, surprise surprise! Maximus, I know what you mean about eyes, some really appeal to me, others I just can't stand. I guess I am on a sort of pastel kick, I'm always searching for that perfect pink. Last year it was all about purples. Laurel, great! I love the eye of Talking to You, and Winter Chill and Tachibana have the form I just love. Willie Lyles it a great bright pink, ( now added to my list ) I have had FOA on my list for a while. SIX fans? Wow! Mainiac, Last Snowflake looks incredible! and what a bonus you got! jkunkle, You got quite an assortment! Do you like purples and eyes? I think I need to add Way out yonder, Mystical Rainbow and Fairy Free Spirit to my wish list. Lilting Belle is especially lovely too. I have Roses in Snow, Beautiful Edgings and Smokey Mt.Autumn coming soon. Let me know if they send you your request for a bonus. I had suggested a couple , cheap ones, but didn't get them. Just curious. Thanks everyone, enjoy!...See MoreJust Received Sweetheart Lychee From Plant-O-Gram
Comments (23)The tree is 4 feet tall in the pot. If I took it out of the pot it would probably be 3 feet. Here are some pictures if you guys are interested as to what I was referencing on my tree. Its only near that center part of the tree, the rest of the tree is dark green and healthy looking. Could it be sunburn? It did go straight from the dark box into full sun but this has just appeared in the last few days. It does not seem to be spreading however. Another cause could be that it was placed in the gritty mix and it received no fertilizer for about a week and the gritty mix really has no nutrients in it. Of course it is possible the shock of the transplant caused this as well. Anyway here are the pictures, let me know if you have an idea as to what it could be or I could just be overreacting :)...See MoreMy second order from Thailand (AHHOYA) has arrived! Comments (53)I am getting excited for y'all just watching your group order conversations, guys! Good luck. I was starting to feel a serious itch for the last few weeks to get something new and exciting, and I was considering a Thailand order - but then a big Catasetum orchid vendor announced a sale at prices that are impossible to resist, so I am hosting a big group order among a few of my orchid friends. We are up to 7 people, 29 plants and well over $400 in cost even after all the generous volume discounts. Everybody is pretty excited....See MoreMy first order from Green Mountain has arrived!
Comments (11)Popmama, like Dick, I too have found end of season sales at grocery stores. That is how I came to own my 'June' and 'Golden Tiara' - each under $7 late in the season back in 2009. I actually think I forgot to pick up what sent me to the store in the first place, lol....the hostas were at the outside entrance of the store and the first thing I saw! Too excited about the find and the price! Keep your eyes open, Popmama for you never know what you can find in grocery stores ;-)....See Moretammysf
