What should I do with this dining table?
Comments (24)Nosoccermom, I believe they are indeed a set. The wood is identical. Sorry, I didn't make it really clear in my first post, but the red paint and distressing is for sure a DIY. The PO told me his aunt did it and no one wanted the table after that. Yeah, go figure. The top is part of the original, not added on. Also, it must be veneer, definitely not particle board. It has the folding protective pads that go with it. It's nicely made and was probably expensive at the time. Oh, the green is felt with adhesive backing that they must've stuck on at some point to protect the floor....See MoreSliding Panel Blinds for Patio Door
Comments (5)I dont blame you for not wanting to block the view but then yes, since sliders are centered on wall it will no longer be if bar extends only on one side so blinds can be pulled off window. What a bout a curtain rod thats centered while also extending beyond the left/ right of window so curtains opened will be in front of wall, not blocking view. We replaced our vertical blinds with curtains after seeing it on a neighbors sliders - got panels with built in top rings so easy to slide them open / closed. Dining rooms dont have a lot of options for fabric to warm up the room like bedrooms/ living rooms have. Liked how curtains soften the feel of dining room too. Plus my own quirk but when I see vertical blinds, cant help but think they give look of being in an apartment. Lived in plenty of them so not being snobby, just not a fan of it. On them, we...See MorePatio door suggestions
Comments (3)We install the Jeld-Wen & Pella doors quite often. I haven't seen any issues with the Jeld-Wen door other than some small glass issues. The Pella vinyl door (Thermastar) has gone through some overhauling just recently. They've seemed to get the little issues we've run into fixed. I haven't seen any problems lately in any way. The Pella clad gliding patio units are still one of my favorite doors. They glide and operate better than almost anything out there today. All the bad press Pella has received over the past few years had some very relevant issues. Over the past few years Pella has pin pointed these issues and made changes to repair the problems. From the production side of all the complaints all the changes have been made to avoid any future problems. They will only have to deal with the issues they've had from the past. I can tell you first hand the Pella products are well worth their price. Take the time to look them over. Your very safe in using their products without issues....See Moreadvise re roller blinds for sliding patio door
Comments (3)It will have a casing - I am actually asking the drywall we if they can do a clean flush install so there are no casings for these windows and patio door on the main floor - but assuming that’s tricky we’ll have flat casing 1.5-2” wide with 7” flat baseboards...See More- 6 years ago
